June/July 2020 Summary

Hey everyone! I'll try to keep this short on what's been going on.


Misc

So to start off, I was quiet the last few weeks because I was working on finally launching my creator focused Discord server, which caused some issues. It always frustrated me that we had servers with tiny help sections that were thrown in last minute, but never a server focused entirely on creators with dedicated channel topics, etc. 

So I, and then later some friends of a friend, had started this project many months ago but put it on hold because I got busy, along with lack of motivation, but recently people were asking around for a creator focused server. I told them I had one that I was working together with others on that was mostly finished, just missing bots, etc. and got back to work on my portion. It would have been done the week we re-started if the person in charge of bots and graphics had done their portion, but they haven't yet with no communication....

So now I have another person working on the graphics and I will be doing the bots myself, but this whole mess de-motivated me and I couldn't muster the energy to work on anything the last few weeks (not counting the first week I was working non-stop on the server). Anyhow, as soon as I have the graphics I can do the final steps to getting the server launched, which will hopefully be within the week if we don't run into any further problems. 

I'm so excited for people to see the project come to completion, and I think new creators will especially appreciate it as it's also a massive tutorial directory, with links to helpful threads, programs, resources, pretty much everything you can think of! It will be for both modders and CC creators of all types, with categories locked behind roles so the server doesn't feel crowded, etc. It was a lot of work and I hope it becomes the bustling and helpful community I've always imagined.

(And yes, I'll be working on my own mod server as well at the same time xD I actually re-organized it already, just need basic bots and to post the relevant stuff, so expect that to launch soon as well!)


Current Progress & Focus

Pretty much everything I have stated in previous posts is still being worked on, minus a few things that popped up recently that I'll talk about at a later date.

Human Ghosts:

I finished Human Ghosts!! I finished it, actually, earlier in the week of when I started working on the server, and all I had left to do was the graphics, details, and post. Then everything happened of course and it got pushed to the side. Now that I'm motivated again, I will be working on getting it released for Early Access sometime this week, if again nothing gets in my way. I wanted to do a video to showcase what exactly the mod does, but I'm still clunky when it comes to editing videos so that might cost me a bit more time. Either way, I'll work on getting it released as soon as possible. 


Farming  Pack Collab:  

We've started the first steps on working on this collab, though on some small projects first that simply enhance what is already in the game, and it's to help teach my collaborator how to mod (they are new to modding). Our first set of mods include the Justice Mods, which is where we go through farming objects, and possibly others, and give them not only the ability to be renamed, but improve or add features to make them more worthwhile. Our first mod is #JusticeForCowplants! We've added the ability to name them, unlocked talk, weed, etc. interactions, as well as several other features I think everyone who is a follower of lilsimsie's will appreciate! It is currently about 50% done, only because I have to go through and unlock....10? or so interactions. Won't take me long, it's just tedious. Version 1 of this mod will be released sometime this week, without Early Access, on ModtheSims. You can find our group account (currently with nothing on it) located here if you want to follow it.


Medieval World Collab:

My friend Pancake is burnt out on my commissioned tool for TSM objects, so I can't convert any animated objects until he recovers and finishes it. I don't know when this will be, so until then I will work on a couple of stationary objects and sim animations to go with this world, but hopefully the tool will be finished before Arnie releases his mod so I can squeeze in more stuff. My first project I started on is an overhaul of the dances currently in the game and replacing them with the TSM dance! I'm maybe....20% done? I have all the animations converted, but I need to do the IK, override the ASM still, and a few other things, so this won't be done any time soon. Especially as I am still working on a few misc mods here and there that I mentioned before.


And there's other things that I could mention, but they would be about a sentence or two long, and honestly doesn't feel worth putting here. So that's a wrap of my monthly summary, I hope to get these things to you guys soon! Have a great day!
