Over the course of the plot, Y determines that X is better than Z, and X and Y end up together” is a pretty standard romance plot and I don’t see how what’s proposed is materially different from that. If Y and Z actively don’t like each other or have no real attachment I think “cucking” is a stretch since that usually implies betrayal or actual or potential emotional harm to Z, which wouldn’t necessarily be present. With all that said, I think it’s tough to assess comfort level for this type of scenario in a vacuum and it would maybe be more helpful to just give the pitch for a specific plot you were thinking about and see how people feel about that.

2024-07-02 17:48:21 +0000 UTCIt would depend on the context, for example, as you described they were married for political and or financial reasons with little to no affection between them and one of them has an affair then no it would not be cuckholding. Cuckholding is done primarily when one person in the relationship cheats for there own benefits such as sexual, romantic, revenge, etc, while either both or at least one person still loves or holds affection to the one who cheats, either being betrayed by the one they hold affection, or love, ergo cheating or taking part in it two as part of a sexual fetish, as is most commonly demonstrated. However there are exceptions, such as blackmail, which can lead to many sinerios such as the person liking what is done to them that they prefer it to what they do with their partner and or their partner like seeing what is being done to there partner. Again to reiterate, context is important when trying to write cheating stories with no cuckholding. However there my possibility be crossing over of the two, such as one partner in a possessive and or abusive relationship with there parents and fineds love and pleasure with someone else this can be applied as a cuckholding but on a more emotional level. Bringing back to your proposed scenario, if one partner in a relationship seeks companionship on an emotional and or sexual level, and in some cases breeding level, and the other partner allows it or does not mind then it’s not cuckholding or cheating but a open relationship, which can leave said partner open to do the same with who they desire. Again context must be clear.
