Chapter 535: The Battle of the Peak Saint Rank
Added 2025-06-30 15:05:01 +0000 UTCPrincess Annie was a bit anxious and whispered, “Don’t go!”
Charlot Mecklenburg patted her shoulder and said, “It’s fine. I am a Saint rank now.”
Annie wanted to say, You’re only at the 19th rank...
But Charlot had already flown out of the mist, confronting Idehyra in midair.
Charlot was indeed just at the 19th rank, but if it came down to a true duel, even someone at the 20th or 21st rank might not necessarily be his match. Beyond that... it might be challenging.
However, with his enhancements—such as the ×27 amplification provided by the Red Viper and Blue Viper, and his Swiftstep Technique pushed to a stunning ×32 efficiency—he wasn’t afraid of facing the Dreamwalker Witch. Moreover, he had the Demon of the Mirror, Yishemierlen, in his arsenal.
If it truly came to a fight, Charlot could also summon four Evil God wives and two Evil God children. Whether they were genuine kin didn’t matter; they were highly effective tools.
Idehyra reached up, lifting the hood of her cloak. Her stunning face was revealed, and she smiled with a charm capable of captivating the masses. “I have a rather curious question,” she said. “Duke Mecklenburg, how are you still able to wield the power of the Labyrinth God Agmirlas?”
Charlot, quick to fabricate a lie, flashed a faint smile and replied, “I am a vampire, after all.”
Spreading his arms, Charlot became shrouded in Stardust Battle Energy. After ascending to Saint rank, the starlight flowing from his energy glimmered like radiant celestial bodies, dazzling and resplendent.
The New Continent had many vampires, with two of the five peak Saint ranks being vampires themselves. Idehyra easily recognized the Arsilo clan’s Stardust Battle Energy. A flicker of surprise crossed her alluring face as she gasped, “Did you harness the Blood Ancestor’s power to seize control of the Labyrinth God’s strength?”
Charlot nodded lightly. For him, deceiving one person was as good as deceiving another. He didn’t feel the least bit guilty about misleading the people of the New Continent.
In truth, Charlot didn’t even understand the underlying reason behind Idehyra’s question. As someone from the Old Continent, he lacked the detailed knowledge of Evil Gods that the New Continent’s people possessed. He was unaware that after an Evil God’s fall, no one could wield their power anymore.
This information, common knowledge to the New Continent’s populace, was utterly alien to Charlot. Yet as a transmigrator, Charlot knew how to craft responses that best served his interests.
Idehyra felt a twinge of disappointment. She herself wasn’t a vampire, after all. But soon, her eyes gleamed with excitement as she murmured to herself, “Using the power of an Evil God to counter the power of another Evil God? So that’s how it’s done?”
“This opens up an entirely new approach!”
“We New Continent dwellers are already considered daring, but the Old Continent’s people are even crazier!”
“No, it’s because Charlot is of vampire descent. Vampiric Evil Gods aren’t as deranged as those of the New Continent—they’re entirely different. Still, if I gather people to experiment, there’s a chance this method could yield results.”
Having reached this conclusion, Idehyra smiled faintly. “This information is important to me. To thank you, I’ve decided not to kill you.”
Charlot returned her smile and asked, “And how exactly were you planning to kill me?”
Idehyra chuckled lightly and abruptly vanished from Charlot’s line of sight.
Without hesitation, Charlot stepped back and entered the Infinite Mirror World, leaving behind over a dozen magical mirrors in the real world.
Within the Mirror World, Charlot immediately spotted Idehyra again. Smiling faintly, he remarked, “A Dreamscape?”
Idehyra hadn’t expected Charlot to break free from her Dreamscape using such a method. She had intended to trap Charlot within her illusion, sealing away all his abilities and making him her puppet. Yet Charlot demonstrated mastery over the Van Gogh clan’s abilities.
Though Idehyra had heard that some vampires could excel in powers outside their bloodlines, she didn’t find it strange. Vampires from the New Continent often mastered abilities from other clans. The two peak Saint ranks of vampiric descent, for instance, had each mastered techniques from three or more different bloodlines.
She approached a magical mirror within the Infinite Mirror World, her ethereal movements graceful, and gently placed a hand on its surface.
Charlot immediately sensed a force of Dreamcrafting arts infiltrating the Mirror World.
The Infinite Mirror World was vast, stretching endlessly, even encompassing regions like the Aggras Sea and the Mosuli and Blackgolon areas of the New Continent.
The invading dream energy quickly coalesced into a Dreamscape with a radius of ten kilometers. Within it, Idehyra roamed, yet all she could see was an expanse of boundless ocean. There was no trace of life—only the sky and water surrounded her.
Her heart raced slightly as she thought, How can Charlot Mecklenburg’s consciousness be so vast?
My Dreamscape cannot even capture him?
Charlot, however, was cautious and refrained from entering the Dreamscape of a peak Saint rank. But while he wouldn’t do it himself, that didn’t mean others couldn’t.
Charlot brought a finger to his lips and whistled nonchalantly. A moment later, Yishemierlen appeared beside him, smiling faintly. Without hesitation, the demon stepped into Idehyra’s Dreamscape.
Idehyra noticed the intruder and felt a rush of excitement. She manipulated her Dreamscape to transform into the form of an innocent young girl with eyes brimming with purity. Spotting Yishemierlen, she fell to the ground, crying out in a frail voice, “Help me! Please, save me!”
Then she saw a towering undead figure made entirely of bones, clad in a cheap, paper-thin black suit, and wielding a trident. It was Yishemierlen.
The demon’s presence was utterly menacing, devoid of any warmth. Faced with the pitiful young girl, Yishemierlen raised the Trident of Yishemierlen without hesitation and stabbed fiercely.
Idehyra had no choice but to conjure a sea of blossoms to block the attack. She retreated rapidly, trying to put distance between herself and this unsettling entity.
In the Infinite Mirror World, Charlot watched the battle between Idehyra and Yishemierlen. Sitting comfortably, he regretted not having a bucket of popcorn. Even a plate of fries would suffice. Occasionally, he glanced outside the Mirror World. There, Idehyra remained poised, her hand pressed against the magical mirror, entirely focused.
Charlot shook his head, muttering to himself, “So this is what battles above the Saint rank look like—fascinating.”
“No wonder Protagoras managed to sweep through the vampires. With so many abilities at one’s disposal, even Saint rank combat has its share of blood and glory.”
Inside the Dreamscape, Idehyra fought hard, her hands moving like dancing flowers. Dreamwalkers were not adept at physical combat, and even a peak Saint rank like her was no exception. Within her Dreamscape, she found herself sweating profusely under Yishemierlen’s relentless assault...
