Chapter 467: The Chase at Sea

Charlot stretched out his hand and reclaimed the Radiant Holy Kingdom!

He couldn't solve this problem otherwise.

The Radiant Holy Kingdom required parchment from the Ancient Gomodoro Tree, and while he had already acquired the tree, how could he strip off several pieces of parchment and then discard the rest? This item, though enigmatic, was of immeasurable value.

As the golden ring returned to his finger, all the mental echoes vanished, and even the Log of the Radiant Holy Kingdom ceased its mysterious activity.

Charlot's act of reclaiming the Radiant Holy Kingdom left many disappointed. However, they understood his decision—facing a formidable enemy made it unwise to indulge in extravagance. Most people channeled their frustration toward Georgia Hadrian.

Cresto approached Charlot after witnessing the recall of the Radiant Holy Kingdom, speaking in a low voice. “I suggest we leave Solomon Island.”

Charlot was mildly surprised. He was still somewhat tempted by the tooth of the Sea Serpent Queen Posugi, but now that this extraordinary item had fallen into Georgia Hadrian's hands, there was no way for him to retrieve it. The thought of lingering for the tooth rendered staying on Solomon Island meaningless.

Cresto continued, “Although our fleet is formidable, this island is too peculiar. If we stay, danger is inevitable. What’s more, we’re docked in a canyon with only one exit. If Georgia Hadrian's warships block the entrance, we’ll be trapped like sitting ducks.”

Charlot shuddered, suddenly realizing the precariousness of their situation.

The canyon, while a natural harbor, left the fleet vulnerable. It would be far too easy for Georgia Hadrian to ensnare them.

Knowing that Georgia Hadrian's fleet of alchemical warships vastly outnumbered theirs, Charlot abandoned all thoughts of the Sea Serpent Queen Posugi's tooth and any further exploration of Solomon Island. Even the fates of Drusineia—still on the island—and Gareth, who had yet to return, no longer weighed on his mind. Charlot decisively shouted, “Set sail! Leave this canyon immediately!”

Following Charlot’s order, the fleet began to move. Seven magical alchemical warships exited the port first, followed by the Dolmabahçe.

As the fleet just cleared the canyon, a hostile fleet surged forward across the waves.

Charlot felt a chill run down his spine. Without Cresto's warning—his seasoned insight as a former Grandmaster of the Royal Knights—their fleet would have been caught by Georgia Hadrian in the canyon, with no choice but to engage in a desperate battle.

Georgia Hadrian had scouted Charlot’s fleet earlier and, upon returning, devised a plan. After eliminating Charlot’s messenger, he immediately ordered his fleet to advance. What he didn’t expect was that Charlot would anticipate the move and leave the harbor ahead of him.

Without hesitation, Georgia Hadrian commanded his warships to fire.

Charlot, however, had no intention of engaging in combat. He ordered the fleet to sail at full speed toward the Aggras Sea.

Both fleets were equipped with magical alchemical warships of similar speed—products of the Black Phoenix Dynasty. Georgia Hadrian’s fleet, however, consisted of the latest models, slightly superior in quality.

As the fleets departed Solomon Island, a black tide erupted from the island, surging toward them with increasing ferocity.

The sight shocked Charlot. He ordered his eight warships to push their limits, while Georgia Hadrian, also alarmed, commanded his fleet to accelerate.

The black tide surged higher as Solomon Island began to tremble and then slowly sank beneath the sea.

Standing atop the Dolmabahçe’s highest deck, Charlot watched the island disappear into the ocean depths. A chill gripped his heart—neither the black tide nor the island's submergence were natural phenomena.

While Charlot didn’t understand the exact events on Solomon Island, he knew some incredibly powerful force had been provoked.

Fortunately, both fleets were faster than ordinary ships, nearly three times as swift. The black tide only came within a few kilometers before they managed to outrun it.

Everyone aboard the two fleets could clearly see what the tide contained: countless vengeful spirits, skeletons, ghastly floating corpses, and a massive number of dead sea creatures.

As the distance between the fleets and the tide grew, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Though the exploration of Solomon Island had been eerie, the abundance of extraordinary individuals and the presence of Saint-ranked leaders had quelled their fear. However, this final black tide was on an entirely different scale.

Even Georgia Hadrian could sense that the black tide emanated a force far beyond anything encountered on the island.

After sailing for most of the day, the two fleets deliberately widened the gap between them.

Georgia Hadrian’s fleet, exhausted from fleeing the mysterious tide, required urgent maintenance for their fifteen magical alchemical warships. The crew, still shaken, also needed time to recover their strength.

Charlot, similarly disinterested in combat, focused solely on reaching the Aggras Sea and resolving his current predicament.

Unbeknownst to Charlot and Georgia Hadrian, tens of thousands of Wriggling Demons were marching along the seabed in a massive column spanning dozens of kilometers. These creatures, undeterred by water, moved effortlessly beneath the waves.

Had the two men known of this, they would have done everything in their power to annihilate the demons.

Finally, when Charlot could no longer see Georgia Hadrian’s fleet, he sighed in relief. “We’ve shaken off Georgia Hadrian’s fleet. Now, let’s proceed at full speed and reach the Aggras Sea as soon as possible!”

Meanwhile, in the captain’s quarters of his flagship, Georgia Hadrian examined the enormous tooth in front of him. As a peak Saint-ranked individual, he could sense the overwhelming power contained within the tooth.

What he didn’t realize was that this was the tooth of the Sea Serpent Queen Posugi, which could be forged into an extraordinary weapon.

At the same time, a red-haired beauty—Drusineia—clung to the side of a Black Phoenix Dynasty warship, having failed to catch up with Charlot’s fleet after the sudden submergence of Solomon Island. She had instead latched onto Georgia Hadrian’s fleet.

As she emerged from the water, Gareth surfaced nearby. He cast a cold glance at her but didn’t attack. Instead, he climbed aboard a ship.

Once on board, Gareth’s appearance transformed. He punched a passing Black Phoenix Dynasty sailor, killing him instantly, then stripped the body of its clothes, quickly changing into them. Without hesitation, he tossed the dead sailor and his own wet clothes overboard.

His seamless execution of these actions left Drusineia momentarily dumbfounded.
