Chapter 463: The Seven Sea Monsters of the Furious Sea

The water in the pond was completely drained by the golden ring!

Charlot could even sense a mysterious resonance between himself and the Radiant Holy Kingdom, as if they shared some unspoken connection. He gently turned the golden ring on his finger and said, "Let’s go."

Now, he was certain that the final extraordinary artifact needed to repair the Radiant Holy Kingdom, the Venomous Fang of the Sea Serpent Queen Posugi, must be located on Solomon Island. Moreover, it was highly likely to be hidden within this underground cavern!

Charlot lightly touched the Whispers of Fate, but the ring remained unresponsive. With no better options, he decided they should leave the valley for now.

Suddenly, Andreas exclaimed, "Look! There’s someone at the bottom of the pond!"

Charlot turned his attention to the muddy bottom and noticed a piece of fabric protruding from the silt.

Argon jumped down, reached into the mud, and pulled out a person. However, the individual had clearly been dead for a long time. Their face was pale, their eyes shut, and they wore an antique warrior's outfit in the style of the Sherlock Dynasty. At their waist hung a sword.

Andreas unsheathed the weapon, remarking, "A standard magical rapier, probably worth about one or two hundred écus."

Charlot shrugged. "Its condition is decent. I’d say at least one hundred and eighty gold écus."

Back in the day, Charlot would have been overjoyed to own such a magical rapier—perhaps he would have even treated it as a family heirloom to be passed down through generations. However, such a low-grade extraordinary weapon no longer held much appeal to him.

From the quality of the rapier, Charlot deduced that the deceased must have been an extraordinary individual from the Sherlock Dynasty, though not a particularly high-ranking one. After all, even Charlot himself no longer had any use for low-tier extraordinary weapons.

The trio searched the corpse and found, aside from the rapier, a pouch containing a few coins from the Sherlock Dynasty and a piece of paper torn from a notebook. The edge of the paper was jagged, and it was densely covered with writing.

Among the three of them, Charlot’s command of the Sherlock Dynasty language was the best, so he translated the words aloud, one by one:

"I found the treasure! Damn it, this place is crawling with monsters. I’ve discovered a secret: those creatures with only one eye—they might be blanks."

"If we stare at one intensely, imagine transferring our soul, we could be reborn in their bodies."

"I don’t dare to try..."

Charlot concluded, "That’s all it says."

Andreas shrugged and commented, "Who would want to be reborn in one of those monsters?"

Charlot pondered for a moment. "Perhaps it’s not about rebirth but rather a transfer of memory."

"Those monsters might not lack intelligence but memory. If they could acquire memories, it might trigger a transformation."

Argon muttered, "How did they come into existence?"

Charlot and Andreas fell silent for a while.

Charlot finally said, "Perhaps a deity created them."

Andreas added, "If it were a deity, it could only be an evil god. I’ve never heard of a true god doing something like this."

Charlot nodded in agreement. "Regardless, I still need to find one thing here before we leave."

After a pause, he decided to be upfront. "I’m looking for the Venomous Fang of the Sea Serpent Queen Posugi."

Argon was stunned. "You’re not aware that Posugi is a descendant of the Eternal and Illusory Dragon?"

Charlot was taken aback. "Posugi is a descendant of the Eternal and Illusory Dragon?"

Argon explained, "The Dragon God is unique among deities, having spawned hundreds of descendants. Most of them are sea monsters. They possess divinity but almost no intelligence. They are ferocious, violent, and wield power beyond any mortal creature."

"The Sea Serpent Queen Posugi is one of the most formidable of these descendants. Her body reportedly spans thousands of pimi and can easily stir waves as massive as mountains. Even legendary warships would struggle against her."

"How could you possibly obtain her fang?"

"Besides, Posugi resides in the Furious Sea and would never venture into the Giant Whale Sea!"

Charlot hadn’t expected the orcs to preserve such “secrets”—or perhaps “gossip” would be more fitting. Unable to resist, he asked, "Is the Deep-Sea Leviathan Akras also a descendant of the Dragon God?"

Argon replied, "Of course! Akras, like Posugi, is among the seven strongest sea monsters of the Furious Sea. Even among the Dragon God’s descendants, few can rival monsters like them."

Charlot speculated, "Perhaps someone already obtained Posugi’s fang and hid it on Solomon Island?"

Argon exclaimed, "That’s absurd!"

"No one could extract the fang of the Sea Serpent Queen Posugi."

"Unless..."

Andreas interjected, "Unless another deity intervened—perhaps an evil god?"

Charlot considered the possibility, and even Argon, despite his courage, looked uneasy. "This is no laughing matter," Argon muttered.

Andreas gestured around them. "This isn’t a joke. Look at this underground cavern. Think about that ancient tree and the creatures it spawned."

Argon was still reluctant. "Mr. Mecklenburg, you already have the Dolmabahçe. Why insist on repairing the Radiant Holy Kingdom?"

Charlot took a deep breath and said, "Let’s search a bit longer. If it proves too difficult, I’ll consider abandoning the quest for Posugi’s fang."

The three of them left the valley, leaving behind the long-dead Sherlock Dynasty warrior. Andreas kept the antique rapier, Argon pocketed the ancient coins, and Charlot took nothing—after all, he had already claimed the Tears of the Whale King, a treasure far more valuable than a rapier or coins.

Charlot, Argon, and Andreas exited the valley and returned to the underground cavern. With no clear direction and the Whispers of Fate offering no guidance, Charlot suggested they catch up with Gareth. Argon and Andreas agreed.

Meanwhile, Gareth had clashed with Drusineia at least twenty times.

Drusineia relied on her vast array of abilities and transformations to escape each time. Yet she could sense that Gareth, after consuming the blood and life essence of countless Wriggling Demons, had grown increasingly powerful.

This realization instilled a flicker of fear in Drusineia. She was indeed, as Argon had suspected, a princess of the Sherlock Dynasty. Though she had fallen into the hands of Juno Arthur and become his blood thrall, she had always yearned to regain her freedom and acquire the strength to challenge Juno.

Upon stepping onto Solomon Island, Drusineia immediately recognized its true nature—and knew her chance had come...
