"Run!"
The young man in yellow and white robes suddenly used Void Teleportation to escape toward the Ruins. However, his destination was near the battlefield, where the dazed Demon Ram Lord stood.
This elder had remained there as a spectator from the beginning, observing the shifts in the situation with rapt attention. From Li Hao’s sudden attack and killing of the youth in the purple robe, to being heavily injured by the combined assault of five opponents, and then counter-killing them—all of this happened in less than half a stick of incense’s time.
Now, seeing the young man in yellow and white robes appear nearby, the Demon Ram Lord froze briefly before snapping to his senses. Shuddering, his hair stood on end as he hastily teleported away to another location.
That youth was terrifying—slaying six Dao Law Realm practitioners in an instant, scattering their divine abilities as though they were nothing. It was horrifying!
Yet soon, the young man in yellow and white robes teleported again, appearing in front of him.
"You bastard, what are you doing?!"
The Demon Ram Lord could no longer maintain his earlier politeness and cursed furiously.
The intent was all too clear. The young man was using him as a scapegoat to attract Li Hao's enmity and thus escape.
His heart pounded wildly as he raged, but panic consumed him.
Whoosh!
The next moment, Li Hao appeared beside him.
The Demon Ram Lord’s pupils contracted as he hurriedly prepared to unleash a Dao Law attack. Even if death was imminent, a Dao Law Realm expert would not sit idly by awaiting demise.
But Li Hao’s figure blurred, vanishing instantly as he bypassed the Demon Ram Lord and chased after the young man in yellow and white robes.
The latter was also stunned by this, roaring angrily, "Why are you chasing me instead of killing the demon?!"
Li Hao paused momentarily, caught off guard by the absurdity of the remark.
"He’s too weak—he can be killed at any time. Naturally, I’ll deal with you first," Li Hao said flatly.
Void Teleportation allowed him to track traces, but if given enough time, his opponent might indeed escape beyond his reach. Once the traces vanished, pursuit would become nearly impossible.
"You!"
The young man in yellow and white robes gritted his teeth in fury, while the Demon Ram Lord’s mouth twitched. He hadn’t expected his survival to be due to his weakness.
Being weak turned out to have its benefits.
Embarrassed, he wasted no time and utilized Dao Rhythms to teleport at full speed in the opposite direction.
In the blink of an eye, Li Hao caught up with the young man in yellow and white robes.
Whoosh!
The young man, having witnessed Li Hao's terrifying power, had no intention of fighting back. All he wanted was to flee.
But his Void Teleportation traces were captured by Li Hao. The moment he emerged from teleportation, Li Hao had already arrived first, slashing his sword.
Terrified, the young man hastily thrust his spear forward, but Li Hao’s sword light effortlessly deflected it, cleaving through his Dao Domain and severing his arm.
"Spare me! Spare my life! I’ll be your loyal servant!" the young man pleaded desperately, his eyes filled with fear and pain.
"Cattle and horses are everywhere. Why would I need you?"
Li Hao slashed again, his sword light poised to tear through the man’s head.
Suddenly, venomous hatred flickered in the young man’s eyes. His body erupted with power—he also possessed Heaven and Earth Meridian, which he now detonated, unleashing a surging, vast energy.
The explosion transformed into a powerful spear thrust toward Li Hao.
This counterattack had been brewing even as he begged for mercy. Placing survival above all, he had resolved to risk his ultimate strength, even if it meant crippling his cultivation foundation.
Boom!
The sword light and spear radiance clashed, unleashing a dazzling brilliance.
Li Hao's sword light was repelled but quickly slashed out again with overwhelming force.
The spear shattered, and a flash of panic appeared in the young man’s eyes before his head was severed. In the same instant, Li Hao delivered a punch, shaking the heavens and earth, which obliterated the man’s body entirely.
His primordial spirit fled in terror and despair, begging once more, "Don’t kill me! I’ll trade my divine abilities for my life! I..."
Li Hao paused mid-action.
Divine abilities.
The techniques displayed by these individuals earlier were indeed incredibly powerful, far surpassing ordinary Dao Laws.
"How many divine abilities do you have?" Li Hao asked.
The primordial spirit of the young man in yellow and white robes, seeing Li Hao willing to negotiate, breathed a sigh of relief and secretly rejoiced. As long as he could survive, there would always be a chance to escape.
Moreover, teaching divine abilities? How naive! He thought to himself. He could easily sabotage the techniques during instruction, ensuring that Li Hao either practiced incorrectly or wasted time.
"Four divine abilities! The one I used last, Heaven-Forbidden Earth’s End, is a superior divine ability!"
The young man quickly added, "If you think that’s insufficient, I can help find more in the Land of Saints, or even from my sect..."
Realizing this might be misinterpreted as luring Li Hao into a trap, he abruptly stopped speaking.
"Teach me those four first," Li Hao demanded.
The young man hesitated. "That... will take time..."
"Don’t waste words, or that demon might escape," Li Hao said coldly.
The young man was momentarily dumbfounded. He hadn’t expected Li Hao to still be mindful of the Demon Ram Lord and unwilling to let him go.
"Teaching isn’t something that can be done overnight..." he started to explain.
Li Hao cut him off with a wave of his hand, binding him. "You’ll come with me to kill the demon first."
With that, he carried the man’s bound form and moved toward the fleeing Demon Ram Lord using Void Teleportation.
Li Hao teleported rapidly across vast distances, manipulating the power of heaven and earth to form a sharp sword of energy. Using the combined effects of Flying Slash and the Hidden Bow’s concealed attributes, he unleashed a fierce strike.
Boom!
The Demon Ram Lord had already fled beyond the Imperial Palace and out of the Royal City, teleporting over a thousand li away. But Li Hao closed the gap in an instant. When the distance shrank to within a few hundred li, his sword energy surged forward, reaching the Demon Ram Lord's attack range.
The sharp sword qi tore through the Demon Ram Lord’s Dao Domain, splitting his body apart.
With a furious roar, the Demon Ram Lord revealed his true form: an enormous demon ram covered in coiled fur, radiating nightmare-like malice.
Bellowing, he unleashed a Dao Law attack in a desperate bid for survival.
Li Hao, however, relentlessly pursued, closing the distance with repeated Void Teleportations. Wielding sword energy infused with the might of heaven and earth, he condensed it into a single devastating strike.
Slash!
The Dao Law was shattered, and the sword light cleaved through the Demon Ram Lord’s body.
The Demon Ram Lord howled in despair, his Dao Law rippling outward, creating overwhelming phenomena that darkened the sky. The once-clear sky was instantly blanketed in black, with tendrils of dark magical energy spreading from afar.
"In my presence, you dare obscure the heavens?"
Li Hao raised his hand and swept away the darkness with a surge of heavenly power. The oppressive magic dissipated in an instant, revealing a sky even clearer than before, with golden sunlight streaming through the clouds.
The Demon Ram Lord’s eyes were filled with despair. He silently began to refine his primordial spirit, unleashing its power for one final attempt at survival.
Seeing this, Li Hao remained calm. He turned to the young man in yellow and white robes beside him and said, "You deal with him."
"Me?"
The young man was stunned. Faced with Li Hao’s cold gaze, he forced a bitter smile and said, "But I only have my primordial spirit now. I may not be his match."
"Finish him off, then teach me your divine abilities, and I’ll spare your life," Li Hao said bluntly.
The young man’s eyes narrowed as he studied Li Hao, as if trying to gauge the sincerity of his words. "Would you swear on your Dao Heart?"
"Swear for you? Do you think you’re worth it?" Li Hao countered.
The young man chuckled awkwardly, realizing his request was unreasonable. Reluctantly, he said, "Fine, I’ll do my best."
He turned toward the Demon Ram Lord, his eyes filled with killing intent as he stepped forward using Void Teleportation.
The battle began immediately, with the two locked in fierce combat. The Demon Ram Lord demonstrated surprising power, matching the young man blow for blow.
During the fight, the young man secretly transmitted a message to his opponent: "I’m only pretending to attack. I know running away earlier was wrong, but if we want to survive, we need to work together now!"
"You think he’ll let us go? Dream on!"
The Demon Ram Lord sneered, his gaze sharp. "He says he’ll spare you, but he never said he wouldn’t cripple you and leave you to others. If you don’t believe me, ask him yourself."
The young man’s face fell as he glanced nervously at Li Hao.
Li Hao’s expression remained calm as he asked, "Haven’t you dealt with him yet?"
Though the young man’s secret communication was subtle, Li Hao had noticed. It was no surprise—the man’s treachery was evident from the start.
The young man’s expression shifted, and he hurriedly responded, "I’ll finish it right away!"
He turned back to the fight, signaling to the Demon Ram Lord as they engaged in close combat.
The Demon Ram Lord, while aware of the young man’s intent, was also desperate to survive. The two edged closer to Li Hao, and suddenly, the Demon Ram Lord unleashed a bizarre Dao Law. Black chains of energy shot toward Li Hao, aiming to ensnare him.
The chains coiled around Li Hao in an instant, attempting to infiltrate his body.
"Struggle all you want, but if you want to kill me, you’ll die with me!"
The Demon Ram Lord grinned savagely. "This is an ancient and incomplete divine ability, Life-Linking Chains. Now your life is tied to mine. If you kill me, we both perish!"
The young man in yellow and white robes paled. If this were true, wouldn’t he become the only target left?
But before he could react, he saw Li Hao raise his hand. In the brief moment when the Demon Ram Lord relaxed, Li Hao slashed his sword.
The sword light, as vast as a river, cleaved through the Demon Ram Lord. His body shattered under the overwhelming energy, and his primordial spirit trembled. Seeing something utterly incomprehensible, the Demon Ram Lord stammered, "How... how is this possible?"
His body exploded, his soul destroyed completely.
The young man quickly looked toward Li Hao, only to see him standing unharmed. The Life-Linking Chains had failed to take effect.
When the chains had tried to penetrate Li Hao’s body, they were absorbed instead. For any other Dao Law, this might have caused some harm. But the unique nature of the Life-Linking Chains made it ineffective against Li Hao’s transcendent state of merging with heaven and earth.
To connect with him was to connect with the universe itself—an impossibility.
Had the chains succeeded, they would have granted him immortality.
Li Hao turned to the young man and said coldly, "Now, tell me about your divine abilities."
The young man froze, his mind racing as he processed what had just happened. The Demon Ram Lord’s savage confidence had been genuine, and yet Li Hao had nullified it effortlessly.
This boy was becoming more unfathomable by the moment. Could he be a reincarnated saint? Perhaps forgotten memories or prearranged methods allowed him to surpass others in the same realm, wielding uncanny abilities.
He hesitated but, seeing Li Hao’s icy gaze, reluctantly began to explain.
