Cultivation Begins from Infancy - Chapter 401

Volume 3 - Chapter 105: The Affairs of the Mortal Realm Are Beyond Heaven's Control - Part 2

Within the imperial palace...

The vast plaza outside the imperial palace lay in ruins. The ground was riddled with cracks and craters, especially in the area where Li Muxiu and others had been imprisoned, which had turned into a battlefield. Several massive pits marred the earth.

At this moment, within one of the deeper pits, an elderly Daoist clad in a tattered robe lay limp on the ground.

His hair was disheveled, and his body was a bloody mess.

The sword, which had once helped Yu the Great slay countless demons over millennia, was now stabbed into his chest, pinning him to the ground with ruthless finality, rendering him completely immobile.

All the strength in his body had been drained. The 108 major meridians, the Yin-Yang Dual Meridians, and even the Earth and Heaven Meridian had been utterly destroyed. He was on the brink of death, his eyes filled with despair and devoid of life, as though his spirit had already departed.

At this moment, he resembled nothing more than an abandoned toy discarded in the pit. Standing before him was an elderly figure draped in a dragon robe, his body covered in blood. The blood flowing from his wounds had soaked his robe, dyeing it a deep crimson.

This elderly man, Emperor Yu, was held in the grip of a young man as though he were a chicken or duck awaiting slaughter.

Compared to Qin Zhenren, Emperor Yu fared no better. Once Qin Zhenren had been utterly defeated, Emperor Yu had become the replacement, the new "toy" for these six young men and women.

At this moment, Emperor Yu’s arms dangled brokenly, his legs self-amputated. The young man had used Dao techniques to seal off his body’s natural healing, torn apart his meridians, and even crippled his Earth and Heaven Meridian, blocking the flow of his qi entirely.

“This sort of trash dares to call himself emperor of the mortal realm?”

“You were rather stubborn earlier, willing to sever your legs rather than kneel. I admire such defiance.”

“Well then, let’s change the game.”

The young man in the purple robe, his slanted phoenix eyes lending him an air of handsomeness and elegance, wore a warm smile. Yet his serene expression sent shivers through all present.

“Now, how about this: kneel and kowtow before us. For every kowtow, I’ll spare one person. How does that sound?”

A faint smile curved his lips as he delivered this ultimatum.

Hearing this, Emperor Yu, who had been lying motionless, devoid of resistance, could not help but reveal a slight contraction in his eyes. Despite his nearly lifeless body, his gaze retained a chilling killing intent.

The young man in the purple robe seemed like a demon, his amused grin deepening.

“This is a brilliant idea! Brother Xuanfeng always knows how to have fun,” a stunningly beautiful woman exclaimed, her eyes brightening as she covered her mouth with a light chuckle.

The purple-robed youth smiled back and said to Emperor Yu, “I swear on my Dao Heart that my words are true.”

“Your Majesty, don’t!”

“You beasts have gone too far! I’ll fight you to the death!”

Amid the crowd, a royal general could no longer bear the humiliation and roared as he charged forward.

However, he was stopped mid-step, his Dao Rhythms abruptly severed. Suspended in midair, his body exploded with a loud bang before he could even react.

From the remnants of his shattered flesh, a divine soul emerged, but it too was crushed by an invisible force before it could launch an attack.

Li Muxiu, Xia Linglong, and the others turned pale, their hearts filled with grief and fury. This was already the sixth person to die in a fit of rage.

These young men and women were like demons, toying mercilessly with their dignity.

Emperor Yu remained silent as he stared at the purple-robed youth.

Noticing his gaze, the purple-robed youth grinned. “I stand by my word. You must have sensed the imprint of my Dao Heart just now. I would never compromise my Dao Heart for the sake of worthless lives like theirs.”

Emperor Yu fell silent, then spoke slowly: “Then you must promise that not only you but also the others will not harm them and will spare their lives.”

The purple-robed youth’s playful smile froze momentarily before his face darkened.

The hidden loophole in his earlier statement had been seen through by this old man.

Previously, he had only spoken for himself and not on behalf of the others. While he could spare lives, if the others acted, it would not violate his promise.

This subtle ploy, which his companions had tacitly understood, was designed to leave the emperor in despair when they killed more people after his surrender.

But now, the emperor had seen through it all.

“Did no one ever tell you that being too clever leads to tragedy?”

The purple-robed youth’s gaze turned icy. “Originally, you could have lived a little longer and brought us more amusement, but you’ve chosen to die early!”

“Showing intelligence at the wrong time is sheer stupidity!”

With a surge of power, he slammed Emperor Yu’s body forcefully into the ground.

The impact created another deep crater, and fresh blood sprayed from Emperor Yu’s body. The speed at which his bones could produce blood had been severely restricted by Dao techniques.

Lying face-down, he no longer had the strength to rise. Although these people could force his body to bow, his indomitable will refused to yield.

“You bastards!”

The crowd realized they had been tricked. They hadn’t expected such devious cruelty.

A furious imperial consort cursed aloud, but the moment she spoke, one of the youths glanced at her. Before she could react, her body burst apart, spraying blood everywhere.

The scorching blood splattered onto Li Muxiu and the others like fiery sparks, igniting their anger and indignation. One by one, their fists clenched tightly, their bodies trembling with rage. Yet, in the end, they bit down their fury and restrained themselves.

They knew that any attempt to resist would only lead to certain death. Survival was the only hope.

“Boring. Just die already,” the purple-robed youth said dismissively.

He stepped forward, standing before Emperor Yu. His gaze met the emperor’s unyielding eyes, and a hint of killing intent flickered in his own.

Lifting his foot, he prepared to stomp down on Emperor Yu’s head with brutal force, intending to crush not only the head but also the defiance reflected in his eyes.

Suddenly, a sharp whistling sound tore through the air, piercing the skies with incredible momentum.

It came from a hundred miles away, traversing the heavens and the earth with blinding speed. The object soared past the high walls of the imperial palace and shot toward the purple-robed youth like a meteor falling from the heavens.

The purple-robed youth’s eyes narrowed, and he withdrew his foot. Raising his hand, he struck out to intercept the incoming projectile.

Boom!!

An immense surge of power erupted from his palm as it connected with the object, which turned out to be the corpse of a demon.

The demon’s body, partially reverting to its original form, stretched dozens of meters long and resembled a small mountain. Hurtling through the air like a meteorite, it radiated a menacing pressure.

However, under the purple-robed youth’s power, the demon’s corpse exploded into a shower of blood and flesh. The sky was painted red with the spray, and the remnants of the demon’s body fell like rain across the plaza.

The five young figures hovering in mid-air revealed their Dao energy, shielding themselves from the blood and gore. Not a single drop touched them.

The rest of the plaza, however, was drenched in blood. Crimson droplets rained down, staining the ground and painting a gruesome picture of carnage.

The sudden turn of events momentarily froze the grief-stricken and despairing crowd. Even Li Muxiu and the others, filled with sorrow, were stunned into silence by the abrupt chaos.

The first to react was the elderly demon known as Demon Ram Lord, who had been silently observing the battlefield like a loyal servant.

He recognized the incoming projectile immediately—the body of Ziyue Ji.

How could this be?

Demon Ram Lord was briefly paralyzed in shock before his gaze darted toward the direction of the attack.

There, a young figure emerged, crossing the hundred-mile distance in a blink. He passed over the ruined imperial city and arrived at the imperial palace, standing defiantly before the crowd that had been wreaking havoc.

The young man’s cold, unfeeling gaze was locked on the group of six in the center of the battlefield. He didn’t spare a single glance at Demon Ram Lord, as though the demon was utterly beneath his notice.

Demon Ram Lord’s expression shifted to one of disbelief.

Although this was the first time he had seen Li Hao in person, the youth’s unique and extraordinary aura was unmistakable. He could only be the young man Demon Ram Lord despised to his very core!

How had Li Hao arrived without his presence being detected?

And what about Ziyue Ji and the others? How had they died?

Demon Ram Lord quickly extended his divine sense, searching the battlefield. His suspicions were confirmed—besides Ziyue Ji, even the Dark Night Demon King was dead!

Two Dao Seeker Realm experts had perished, and not a single trace of their struggle had been left behind.

Demon Ram Lord was dumbfounded. It was simply inconceivable.

Meanwhile, the crowd in the plaza turned their gazes toward the new arrival. Many of them were struck with confusion at the sight of Li Hao, clearly encountering him for the first time.

Yet, his age and presence were so striking that it left no room for doubt. In the entirety of the Great Yu Divine Dynasty, only one individual matched this description.

The Haotian General!

It was him!

Whispers of astonishment rippled through the crowd. In such a perilous and desperate situation, instead of fleeing, Li Hao had arrived to lend aid.

“Ha’er!” Li Muxiu gasped, his voice breaking with emotion.

He had not expected Li Hao to come, but the current predicament was far worse than the battle at Qingzhou City. This was not a battle against the Supreme Dao Realm monsters but against peak Dao Seeker Realm adversaries!

Xia Linglong and Xia Yuanwu were also stunned. They quickly paled, shouting urgently:

“Run!”

“Haotian General, you must flee!”

They had endured humiliation and agony, clinging to hope—the hope that Li Hao would survive.

As long as Li Hao lived, there was a chance to reclaim the Great Yu Dynasty. Even amidst widespread destruction, it was preferable to annihilation at the hands of demons.

But now, Li Hao had come.

The rest of the imperial family, realizing his identity, also grew tense.

They had heard the tales of this young man’s many exploits. While immensely powerful, he was still only sixteen. Even if he could rival Qin Zhenren, he was no match for these six adversaries.

Moreover, these six had been toying with their victims the entire time, not even using their full strength.

“Damn it! What are you doing here? Who told you to come? Get out of here now!”

Li Tiangang’s face turned ashen. He shouted in anger and desperation.

“Leave? You’ve come all this way, and now you want to leave? That’s going to be difficult.”

A woman from the group chuckled, her eyes alight with intrigue.

“What an interesting newcomer,” another remarked.

The purple-robed youth narrowed his eyes as he observed Li Hao, his expression shifting to one of curiosity.

“Huh, my Purple Extreme Spirit Eyes can’t penetrate his aura.”
