Chapter 379: She Is Zimourman Axel Robin’s Mother?

The old lizardman cleared his throat and began, “Back then, Princess Axo favored Count Gallanord. However, Julius Axel VI wanted her to marry his childhood friend, the son of Duke Robin—Felix Robin!”
Charlot’s expression immediately filled with disbelief, and he exclaimed, “She’s Zimourman Axel Robin’s mother?”
The Black Dragon nodded gracefully. “That’s correct. The princess ultimately married Felix Robin, the son of Duke Robin, making her the mother of Zimourman Axel Robin.”
“Felix Robin, though not one of the Empire’s three prodigies of that era, was still an extraordinary talent. But no one could have predicted they would have such an indescribable son.”
At the mention of Zimourman Axel Robin, even the old lizardman couldn’t help but feel a heavy sense of pressure. In his time, Zimourman had swept across the Old Continent and dominated the Seven Seas with unparalleled momentum. His name was revered even among the various beastman tribes. Although the Black Dragon knew Zimourman was now “dead,” the mere mention of his name still caused unease.
Golden Ram Herolf, his face visibly uneasy, muttered, “If I had known the princess was in the group, I wouldn’t have dared to make a move, even if it cost me my life.”
Charlot retorted, “I didn’t mention this?”
Both the Black Dragon and Choudrou shook their heads. Charlot thought for a moment and inwardly mused, “I didn’t realize the princess was this formidable!”
“Not only was she one of the Empire’s three prodigies, but her son turned out to be someone as legendary as Zimourman!”
Charlot didn’t know how to describe his feelings. He had suspected that the second princess might be remarkable, but he never imagined she was this extraordinary. He sighed deeply and said, “From now on, I’ll discuss any critical matters with everyone first to avoid missing important information.”
The Black Dragon smiled faintly. “Fortunately, the princess showed restraint.”
Charlot pondered for a moment and asked, “How did Felix Robin die?”
The Black Dragon replied, “No one knows. The official report claimed it was suicide.”
Charlot shook his head. Whether it was suicide or he died of rage didn’t seem to matter much anymore. After all, having a son like that, either reason seemed plausible.
As Charlot chatted idly with his three Saint-rank subordinates, someone outside called out leisurely, “Charlot Mecklenburg, Her Highness the Princess wishes to see you.”
Charlot was somewhat surprised but instructed his subordinates to stay put. He exited the carriage alone, where he met an effeminate-looking man. Bowing respectfully, Charlot said, “I am Charlot. I will follow you to meet the princess.”
The royal families of the Old Continent also had eunuchs, though their numbers were few. Like Europe, Mesopotamia, ancient Egypt, Rome, and Persia, eunuchs existed but left little historical trace and were not widely known.
This effeminate-looking man’s attire made his identity clear: he was undoubtedly a chief eunuch serving Princess Axo. Not wanting to offend such a figure, Charlot was especially polite.
The man gave a faint smile without saying anything and simply led the way.
Charlot followed him to the central convoy. Compared to Annie’s convoy, Princess Axo’s was noticeably more extravagant. Her personal carriages alone numbered five, each with a specific purpose. The princess was currently seated in one designed to host officials, its side fully open and dominated by a large, imposing chair.
Charlot had hoped to slip in quietly, but the eunuch announced loudly, “Charlot Mecklenburg has arrived!”
Left with no choice, Charlot stepped forward and introduced himself: “Commander of the City Patrol Guards in the Lukavaro District, Captain of the West Wind Knights, Director of the Lukavaro District Administrative Bureau, Special Envoy of the Fars Empire to the Ingrima Empire, Temporary Administrator of Mostar Castle, Bybury City, Seagull City, Silver Dove Castle, and Mount Ode City, Administrative Officer of Arcadia Port, Sedona City, Solvan City, Carmel Town, and Interlaken City, Plenipotentiary Consul to Saint Michael Island and Cappadocia, Commander of the South Seraph Warzone, Administrator of the Eleven Cities of the Red Dragon Strait, and Class 23 Level 2 Member of the Council, Charlot Mecklenburg. Greetings to Her Highness Princess Axo Axel!”
The lengthy formalities left Charlot’s throat parched and made him weary of such pomp. It had been a long time since he’d needed to flaunt his administrative titles, as they no longer served much purpose.
Princess Axo beckoned him with a slight wave, and Charlot had no choice but to steel himself and approach, bowing deeply once more.
The princess was stunning, her face untouched by the passage of time. She appeared as youthful as a woman in her late twenties, radiating both maturity and vitality.
She glanced at Charlot and said lightly, “You’re the one who always claims to be a junior of Menielman?”
Charlot felt a jolt and thought, “Annie is here too!”
“What is this princess trying to do?”
“Ah, right! Her son almost married Senior Menielman.”
Charlot bowed slightly and replied with utmost sincerity, “I did graduate from Sheffield University.”
His ambiguous answer didn’t seem to please the princess. She said, “I heard you gave Menielman a magical alchemical warship?”
Charlot couldn’t help but worry that Annie might burst into tears at this moment. If that happened, he truly wouldn’t know how to handle the situation.
Summoning all his wits, he answered with poise, “I have never owned a magical alchemical warship.”
The princess fell silent briefly before letting out a soft laugh and asking, “If you were to marry, would you choose Menielman or Annie?”
This time, Charlot knew how to respond. Smiling faintly, he said, “Forgive me, Your Highness, but I have never faced such a choice.”
“Whether it is a destiny manipulated by the Serpent of Fate, a future guided by the Lady of the Black Moon, or happiness bestowed by the Radiant Lord…”
“Neither my heart nor anything describable in words has ever swayed. I have always admired only one girl—Annie Bretagne.”
“To me, she is unique. Facing the one and only love of my life, I have no choice to make.”
