Chapter 282: Saint Michael Island's Blessing

After a while, she added, "Without the golden ring, you can only temporarily house the Queen Bee. Even if you want to sever ties with the Fars Empire, mastering the Queen Bee alone won’t allow you to dominate the Seven Seas."
Charlot sighed and asked, "Is this crystal vial truly the container for the Queen Bee?"
Princess May retorted, "Haven’t you already obtained it?"
Charlot gave a sheepish smile. "I got it by accident. I didn’t know what it was for! Even though it’s a crystal vial, it might not necessarily be the storage container for the Queen Bee."
Princess May replied coolly, "Don’t you know the origins of the Queen Bee?"
"It’s one of the seven magical warships built during the peak of the Sherlock Dynasty’s power."
Princess May turned the crystal vial over and said, "You can look at its base. It has the Sherlock Royal Emblem."
Charlot took the vial and inspected it. At first glance, he saw nothing, but when he activated his Eye of Insight, the vial became transparent, and he saw the emblem at the base.
However, what surprised him even more was the peculiar "water" within the vial. When he gently shook it, the water barely moved. After a moment, it rippled, but unnaturally—as if it weren’t water contained in a bottle but a miniature sea. The splashes were not mere droplets but tiny waves.
Charlot suddenly thought of another concern and asked, "Even if it is the container, what if it’s not compatible?"
Princess May answered indifferently, "This artifact is designed to be universal."
Charlot had one last question. "When are we setting off?"
Princess May replied, "Now."
Charlot thought to himself, There’s really no rush...
But since Princess May had decided, he didn’t argue further. Just as he was about to ask whether they would fly directly or take a carriage, Princess May raised her hand to her lips, whispered a few words, and made a throwing gesture.
A minute later, Charlot heard the voice of High Priest Auguslatin from outside. His tone was extremely respectful as he said, "Your Highness the Grand Princess, I have not left and am ready to depart with you at any time."
Charlot realized then that this old man had been lingering nearby all along.
Princess May reached out and grabbed Charlot. They began to ascend slowly into the sky.
Charlot found himself enveloped in a soft pink combat energy, which was far more comfortable than the "dominant elder sister" flight experiences he’d endured before. He even had the leisure to glance at High Priest Auguslatin, who followed calmly behind them. The three of them quickly flew out of Britain, heading straight for a naval port.
This time, Princess May didn’t pause. She flew directly, and from afar, the Queen Bee came into view. She gently lowered Charlot to the ground before silently gliding into the ancient magical warship’s cabin.
High Priest Auguslatin followed closely behind her.
Charlot suddenly felt out of place. What use is a mid-level Transcendent in a Saint-rank battle? Am I just here to stand out?
Before long, the entire Queen Bee began to tremble. Countless bee-like wings on the ship’s hull buzzed, and the ancient siren figurehead—Dumusa—let out a pained wail. However, her tightly shut eyes remained closed.
Charlot prayed fervently that those eyes would not open. He wasn’t sure if he could withstand Dumusa’s extraordinary powers. By all accounts, this ancient siren was nearly as terrifying as an Evil God. A mere mid-level Transcendent like him stood no chance.
The Ingrima Imperial Navy stationed at the port grew nervous. They didn’t understand what was happening with this infamous pirate ship. Previously, the Queen Bee had docked peacefully, unloaded and loaded cargo, and departed without incident. This time, it was stirring trouble.
The ship’s bee-like wings suddenly retracted, and countless compound eyes opened across the hull. Each compound eye consisted of thousands of smaller eyes. Charlot quickly pulled up his clothes to cover himself. He couldn’t imagine what might happen if those eyes saw him.
Suddenly, a sharp, piercing sound echoed, reminding Charlot of the half-woman, half-giant-bee creature in the ship’s hold. Just as he began to worry about Princess May’s safety, the sound abruptly stopped.
He heard Princess May’s calm voice. "It’s done."
Charlot opened his eyes. The Queen Bee was gone. Only Princess May and a gleeful High Priest Auguslatin remained. Charlot asked, "Where is the Queen Bee?"
Princess May took out a small crystal vial. Charlot peered at it but saw nothing unusual. Activating his Eye of Insight, he saw within the water’s surface a tiny ship—a perfect replica of the Queen Bee.
Overjoyed and astonished, Charlot asked, "What about the pirates?"
High Priest Auguslatin shrugged and said, "They willingly fused with the ancient magical warship."
Charlot recalled how those pirates had thrown slaves into the ship’s hold. He decided not to dwell on it. After all, they were heinous criminals. This ending seems fitting.
Charlot handed the crystal vial back to Princess May. Though the Queen Bee was invaluable, it was useless to him in this form. He felt safer leaving it in Princess May’s hands.
Had it been the actual Queen Bee, Charlot wouldn’t have minded assembling a fleet and playing pirate for a while.
High Priest Auguslatin said regretfully, "This warship still lacks the key item needed for control—the golden ring. Without it, the Queen Bee can only be used sporadically. If Herolf the Golden Ram summons this ancient magical warship, it will seek its master unless sealed in the crystal vial."
Charlot suddenly realized he had more work to do.
Sure enough, Princess May said coolly, "Return to Saint Michael Island and find a way to acquire those three golden rings."
Charlot took a deep breath, only to hear Princess May add, "I hear you’ve established a modest foothold there. You should be able to hide a few people. High Priest Auguslatin will accompany you and provide some assistance in critical moments."
Charlot’s eyes lit up. Who was High Priest Auguslatin?
A Saint-rank Radiant Lord...
Wait. Correction. A Saint-rank who favored beautiful young men...
Damn it!
Still, having a Saint-rank ally like him on Saint Michael Island was undoubtedly a blessing.
Charlot muttered under his breath, "I’ll retrieve the golden ring for the Princess."
Princess May replied, "Not for me. For us."
High Priest Auguslatin turned away, pretending to admire the scenery, his body language and expression clearly saying he’d heard nothing at all.
