The Gorgon’s gaze

Dawn stared helplessly. She couldn’t move, couldn’t think to move. All she could do was stare at the red light shining into her eyes. At the very center of the light she could see two red eyes, staring into her very soul. She could only stare deeper and deeper into those red lights, there was no end to them, no bottom to ever hit. She woukd keep falling and falling into them for eternity, even a she felt her body growing colder, harder.

The marble crept up her body slowly. In inch at a time. In her state, Dawn couldn't tell if it moved an inch a second or an hour. She only knew that she couldn’t move her legs, her arms, and even her breathing was coming more slowly, just like her thoughts.

if she could do anything but stare into those lights, she would have seen the marble growing up over her breasts, freezing her nipples into hardened nubs atop her now too smooth too round breasts, gravity having no effect on the marble they now were. She could only stare into the light and feel her mind growing slower and slower and slower.
