It's a bit of a non-reveal that Scott self-harmed (A LOT) in the past, because if you read the comic very attentive, you could have literally seen some of the scars already. So I purposely wanted a very undramatic "official introduction" of his whole skin, just him looking at himself, because that's the unchangeable truth and plain state he has to deal with now. I trust my readers enough not to jump to a "this promotes self-harming behavior" kinda message I'm going with here.
Because the scars mix with his stretchmarks from rapid growth, and it's hard to tell what is what (a reason why he was like "what does it even matter"), I also made a little "mark map":

It has such an impact on his future actions to see just how much self-loathing he has. I’m fascinated to see how big of an impact Carter’s small compliments and attention are going to have on him
