March 2022
Added 2022-03-31 22:29:18 +0000 UTCThis month has been a bit of a rollercoaster for me. For awhile, I was trying to do a render every day. That was going well for a bit, but then I took a break and didn't start up again. I've added the images I made during this period to the Supporter Archive, and most are already on my Pixiv. Some of them are currently only on twitter. I'll try to figure out which I haven't posted on Pixiv yet and get them moved there. They are also available on my Baraag ( https://baraag.net/web/accounts/137042 ), which I'm trying to keep more up to date with my twitter.
I finished a small animation today, which is already up on Pixiv and in the Supporter Archive. This was a fun one to work on and didn't take very long. I have another in the works that I've been meaning to finish but I've been having PC troubles lately and I'm worried my machine isn't going to last much longer. The biggest issue is that my computer likes to restart when I'm rendering animations, usually during compositing. I have no idea why, and it's worse in Windows than Linux, but still happens in Linux. I've reseated all my components and done a memory test, but it keeps happening, meaning I have to babysit my computer during the hours and hours it takes to render animations. :(

2022-04-03 21:35:17 +0000 UTCI do a pretty good job at keeping the inside of my computer clean. Thermals are definitely not the issue, and were the first thing I checked.

2022-04-03 05:09:30 +0000 UTCIt's easy to blame restarts and crashes on thermal issues and people dismiss 'em because cleaning out the heat sink fuzz under the fan is too easy for such an aggravating issue, but did ya check it? Just sayin', it can be a cause (though a bad stick of RAM or the sockets seem more probable...) ;)
2022-04-03 05:00:39 +0000 UTCI replaced the power supply and the did help reduce how often it was rebooting, but I'm still having issues. I am hoping I can save up to replace my computer but back when I bought my GPU, the best non-Titan card on the market was less than $1000, and now the 3080 ti is like $1500... Things are so unaffordable and it's driving me nuts... And it's worse elsewhere in the world.
2022-04-01 04:22:14 +0000 UTCHuh, my computer would also do that, I found out it was because of a faulty ram slot. Can also happen with a bad power supply.
