Going to start with the "minor" things:
All the sound work for the demo is complete. As in, I've either designed, edited, or procured all the sound effects required for at least the demo period of the game. I've never really brought this up because it was difficult to quantify, I just had to do it linearly until I felt like it was done.
All the characters that appear in the demo, including all side characters (outside of Hau and Torin) have all of their expressions rendered on all their various sprites, barring any touch ups or any new ones that I decide to add.

All the demo outfits are completed on all sprites, technically, outside of Io's.
What I mean is that the duration of the demo has been tentatively shortened to two weeks, rather than the full first month that it was initially planned to be. It may go back up, but I would rather get something in everyone's hands before the end of the year as per my original plans, rather than have things be further delayed due to these recent issues.
So for example, you would see these first four outfits for Kana, since they appear over the course of weeks one and two, but not the final, striped one, since that appears during the weekend of week 3:

The first two weeks is still a lot of playtime, visuals and information, much more than the average visual novel demo. Truthfully, those two weeks are much longer than the average western visual novel in general (since they just tend to lean on the short side compared to their Japanese counterparts, which SC is modeled after), so to you all it probably won't actually feel like much of a compromise, it's just a me thing.
Now, on to the main thing:
SweetCanvas now has a dedicated coder, other than myself!
This is something that more or less became unavoidable as things kept piling up and up and up on me, since I can only do one thing at a time, and that was causing delays for literally everything.
Now, I don't know exactly how long I'll actually be able to afford to keep him on the project, since I'm using the surplus that I was able to accumulate through the final gloss . gallery sale (rest in peace the website) and none of the donations, since those were clearly given to me in the hopes that I'd use them for my own wellbeing and it would feel wrong to put them to any other use-
But the fact that we now have two people working simultaneously has freed me up so much for the time being that I've been blazing through basically everything else that needs to be done, like the sounds that I finished working on, the corrections that I make to sprites for each and every scene to give SC it's visual polish, continuing to concept the opening, and so on.
He also added a function that I was previously incapable of, that being a replay tab that will allow you to reread key scenes whenever you want to, so that's also great.
All in all, things have thankfully been trending upwards for SweetCanvas, despite my own personal problems, and after I complete a few of these much overdue commissions, I'll be getting back to completing CGs and such in full force, for as long as money will allow before I need to take more commissions to raise more funds.
Thank you once again everyone for all of your support, and I'll be updating you all again soon!
