The introduction of that creature on WEBTOON genuinely jump scared me. So cool how well made it was that it could scare me so!

And strings, you say? Come on Sulvain, have a closer look at these strings, surely you'll notice sometime special about them, no...?

It’s supposed to be terrifying, but it looks so beautiful. Even in a bad moment, Raziol has his charm and grace

From what I've noticed, once Raziol has turned, his fangs and claws can come and go with speed. So it wouldn't surprise me if it happened that quickly from the first.

I think kitty’s stance in the first panel could have a couple meanings. Maybe it is foreshadowing, and she’ll eventually protect him. (I hope so!)
But I also interpreted it as more of a possessive stance than a protective one. As if kitty has a hold on him, has overtaken him, and he can’t break free from that grip. From the moment he survives the bite, he loses his own will to the bloodlust. 😔

I think we can all agree, humans find drowning to be peak horror and absolutely fascinating at the same time.

second panel raziol looking so at peace, almost marveled, like a single split second of clarity as he realizes he might be dying… and then feeling the pain of still being alive looking so feral and scared on the third. kaiju…………………….. KaiJu.

It's worth to add that the act of drowning Marzanna doll and sending her home is a symbol of new life since it take places every year in the beginning of spring! It was suppose to bring ppl enough food for next winter. In my hometown there were also tradition to throw coronets (made mainly with daisies) to water, next to marzanna

Very cool! My pastor did a deep dive (pun intended) on the symbology of water in ancient Jewish culture in a trip to Israel many years ago, and he came back SO excited about what he learned that he spent months explaining it all in his sermons. For the ancient Israelites, deep water may well have been outer space. Plus, due to its location and shape, the Sea of Galilee actually CAN go from 0 to 102 and back to 0 again in the same hour; and since it was a main body of water for these people, it was easy for them to imagine that ALL bodies of water are that dangerous and unpredictable. So when Jesus tells the first disciples to fish in the deep end of that sea, or when Moses parts the Sea of Reeds, or when passages talk about God forming creation from 'deep, unordered waters', these are very powerful statements that modern Christian tradition takes for granted. These ideas are still profound and symbolic to western sensibilities, for sure; but its important to remember the primordial terror they are supposed to invoke.

In Slavic paganism water symbolises death too I just realise. There is even a sign on that in modern polish culture. We have this tradition of drowning (I know how it sounds) a woman's doll (I know I know) but this was a goodness of winter and death and her home place was in water. So it wasn't originally drowning but sending her home.

A little baptism motif, which is interesting considering Raz was raised Muslim and was no longer practicing. In the Christian tradition, baptism symbolizes our own death and resurrection as we wash off our old lives and begin a new way of living in Christ. It's also worth noting that in middle eastern cultures where deep bodies of water are rare, waters is the element of chaos and the unknown, rather than healing and peace as it is in the west, adding another layer to the whole rite. At its core, baptism is about finding the courage to take the plunge and let your old self pass away so a new life can begin. And BOOOOOY, did Raz get baptized that night at Versailles!

I feel so bad for Raziol! His body was fighting to stay alive, I’m sure! 🥲
Without his mother’s help, he would’ve been dead by now…

I wonder how Sulvain will react to all this. After all, he knows how terrifying it feels to die first-hand.

SO GORGEOUS. But also poor Raz, to feel yourself dying and then somehow not? That must be equally as terrifying cause you know that's not how it's supposed to happen. I'd be scared out of my mind what was happening to me

I am just in open-mouthed awe at the beauty of this page. And I love the way you're able to convey so much with so few words! I do really hope Sulvain picks up on the ligelumes sensation and can respond to it with some information of his own. Wow, wow, wow.

This page is AMAZING!! I almost forgot how scary kitty's design could look but this and the last page really brought that feeling back. And she's doing a great job here, transitioning from modern Raziol to the past Raziol. Also, the blood, him drowning and then resurfacing - this entire page looks amazing!

I just double check and Jean/Mael's Friend didn't got any of the animal characteristics (maybe I see a lil claws on one of the panels but I'm not sure) and Raziol seams to grown them rather fast. So it was immediate body's response to not dying? I mean when Jean woke up and his wounds heal, his body was already collapsing anyway? I guess? While Raziol's started to change in other direction? Raziol had a lil more time, maybe it's a matter of time, like fangs are growing and it takes a minute or two and you have to survive that long? Djfjdjd ok I got lost in my overthinking and I should getting ready for work

Maybe he got spooked by Sulvain (sound of footsteps etc) because he was in his pure kitty instincts. And run away only when everyone was screaming at Versailles.
I remember reading comments on the website back when I was rereading it (one of manytimes lol) and you guys were speculating that wild cats pull their preys on the trees, but for me it was always like too much of a conscious (half-coscious) sitting, I think if he was pulled out she would just hang him on this branch rather then help him sit, if that makes sense

Okay, wow wow wow WOW! SO much on a single page! I think the layout of the first panel is really interesting—it almost looks like Kitty is in a protective stance around Raziol. I know she wasn’t at the time, but… could it be foreshadowing?? And Raziol feeling his own ligelumes is fascinating!! Also we never knew what happened between when Raziol was attacked and when Sulvain arrived at the scene. I always assumed Kitty dragged Raziol off, but I guess it makes sense she couldn’t have with the masked man controlling her. So they must have left by the time Raziol came back to himself, which means he must have run off into the forest and managed to climb the tree? I AM EATING ALL THIS UP. 💕💕

I KNEW Spooky Mama and her divine friend were why he didnt die! Wonder when Spooky Mom found out she'd made her son functionally immortal from eating that root... ooo i wonder if she is too and that's why she disappeared.

So the strength he gained from when his mother ate that root is how he was able to survive the bite! So What does that mean? Is he the first ever vampire? Will Raz or Sul get to meet Alim? Oooo! I'm so excited! And I just cant hide it!
