2025-03-02 10:30:49 +0000 UTCIf we consider how old Sulvain already was by the 1600s, that already narrows it down a lot! I’ve suspected he met Udaya after the crusades. Of course, who knows how long he fought in the crusades? From the flashback we see of him in 1100s armor, it seems like he was at least involved at the start of it. I’m not sure how long he stayed involved after that.

From my current understanding before and partly in 1400s it was common for women to wear garments showing breast (imagine Sulvain seeing all of this sjdjdjfj) (also KaiJu - I am having fun you don't have to tell me if I'm right or not)

Or did she possibly go home, wherever home is? 🥹🤞 She did get a taste of Lethe when she bit Sulvain, which made her remember *something.* I guess only time will tell what that something is.

2025-03-02 05:26:15 +0000 UTCwhat’s exciting is that this isn’t the same vampire curse we’re all used to in fiction, so it doesn’t work the same way as a normal vampire condition. 😁 There was no reason for Sulvain to 100% believe Raziol would survive because no one had before. Everyone else died. Neither of them knew about how Raziol’s mother strengthened his life before he was born. Sulvain was also not part of the necromancer faction that studied Kitty, the creature that killed all those astronomers and bit Raziol, so Sulvain might not know much about it.

Raziol spoke at the ball about the two of them growing old, showing he had no clue, and Sulvain was thinking about how he’d keep living and looking the same while Raziol aged.

I was surprised that two immortals would take that long to find each other, but it all makes sense if neither knew the other was still alive. They’re both the only one of their kind (as far as we know) so there was no way to find out. Wow!

His mother went out of her way to strengthen his, which kept them from breaking completely when he changed (from what we saw.) If there’s someone else out there with similarly strong ligelumes—AND they happen to be bitten by miss kitty—they might become a vampire too. But if there are others, it’s probably extremely rare. Raziol’s mother was only able to strengthen them with help from a being that seems to be a god. I’m hoping wherever the kitty is, she’s free now and living her best life. 🥲

The last time they saw and recognized each other, Sulvain had been impaled through the chest and was losing tons of “blood.” It wasn’t exactly the type of thing you just walk off. 😅 He must have been so distraught… 😔

2025-03-01 23:47:53 +0000 UTCI have a question, KaiJu. My sense is that in the Novae world, you've completely rewritten the origin story for any vampire-like creature (I base this on Luc's speech). So, much as it is like our world, there still wouldn't be any other vampires or recognizable vampire lore (unless they had been created after Raziol), because Luc seemed to believe that the bite had never realized the hopes the Scisorium had for it. Is that correct?

I don’t think it was Late Middle; that era was knocking on the Renaissance’s door and he seemed fairly old already when the story started (100-ish years into the Renaissance).

So Sulvain never fully explained his condition to Raz and how it made him immortal before they parted. But shouldn't Sulvain have known Raz would still be alive since he's a vampire? What is the extent of Sulvain's knowledge on Supernatural creatures? OH!! Maybe that information was in the Great Library, but someone or something burned it down and Sulvain never got a chance to know.
