The Chapter 16 Cover is here y'all!!
Like the last chapter, this title is also inspired by Granted's wonderful playlist. While apastron means the furthest distance between stars in a binary star system, periastron means the closest. Considering Raziol and Sulvain have been separated for 300 years, it seems a fitting tile. ;D
This chapter will really explore the new setting and give y'all a taste of what's to come between Raz and Sulvain, what has changed and just how they'll meet again. We'll also be introducing some fun new characters and we'll be exploring the mystery behind Vivi and the Dendronian scholars and what it means for all our protagonists.

We have already started on the pages, and we should be able to post some for Star Cluster patrons and up later this week!

Not only do we not know Sulvain’s complete backstory prior to the start of Novae, but now we have a whole new backstory we know nothing about (for both of them). I hope we learn what these two have been up to throughout history (and various major historical events- there are so many that I don’t even know where to start). How did Sulvain recover? How did Raziol learn to manage his vampiric nature? What happened to his parents and the others? Plus, Raziol never knew Sulvain was immortal, and I don’t know if Sulvain realized that Raziol became so. This will indeed be very interesting!

I’m so excited for their reunion :) and I wonder if anyone will comment on their names… going from the 1600s to the 1900s, they must seem a little antiquated now in a more modern era 😂 or maybe that will help them find each other!!! I can’t imagine there are very many “Sulvain”s or “Raziol”s wandering about

I wonder how Sulvain got there and I can’t wait to know how they will meet again, I love those kind of things haha! Raziol is ever the hopeful, and Sulvain looks pretty much exactly the same as he used to. He has a very specific physique, face, and hair that hasn’t changed. Yet I’m sure Raziol has seen people similar to him, that face completely encapsulates the feeling of “omg he looks EXACTLY like sulvain that’s so weird”

I have to admit though it pains me to see them walking by one another like this. They are the closest in physical proximity but the furthest they have been in their relationship. And the image reminds me a bit of the one in the Novae sketchbook that I’ve side-eyed for years, of the boys in Edwardian era clothing walking past each other and Sulvain seeming to have a “wait hold on” moment. I wonder what you’d feel if you saw someone you thought was dead for 300 years. Your first reaction would be that you just met someone who looks similar, wouldn’t it?
