Hi all!

Episode 6 is out now, in case you missed it.

So... We are trying something a bit new. 

Mondays, Jim will be dropping in with the progress report and Thursdays, I (Sinburn) will be dropping in with a more casual blog style update.

I’ll be talking more around the game development stuff and I may do some more detailed character breakdowns. Let me know if there is something you would like me to talk about.

What I’ve been up to…

We have been pushing to try and get the next release out and fixing one bug only to create two more. Honestly, I have played this episode so many times at this point. I have to mute the music after I’ve done all the fixing that relates to it as I go mad hearing the same tracks for three days straight. 

Once the release is out I get to go back to the writing which is my favourite bit.

How far we’ve come.

We have come a long way from me having to do all the programming in the script. We had a programmer to make the back end and UI stuff but every release, I would have to input all the programming for the images and the music. I’m not a programmer by training or temperament and I always found it an arduous task. 

Now we have HS, our lovely programmer who does all that for me. The best part about it is, I then get to play a mostly made version of the game. I can put more energy into polishing and I get a much better feeling for how the release plays from a player's perspective. 

I’m glad I did it in the past. It gave me enough programming knowledge to communicate much better with HS and many small issues, like transitions not playing properly, or the audio track playing too long, I can fix quickly without having to wait on someone else.

Aha, you spotted the set up. The answer is... maybe... hopefully... I put that scene there so we have the option of putting that content in. At this moment, we don't have enough time in an episode to include that as an extra. Episodes regularly hit the 20k word mark without it and we made the choice to cut it... For now. We still have the option to edit in content if we feel the game needs it. It is more likely though that we would give it more time and release it after the main game as some DLC. Of course, if we do that then we would dedicate some time to making it worth the extra cost rather than a couple of scenes.

Hi, There's no plans to just focus on a single character per update. We are splitting the story at points and those will come in additional updates but too many scenes will start to involve multiple characters so that would start to get too complicated. We'll just keep progressing the story. I could see something like that happening towards the end as we start work on the endings but we have a team of artists now so we have them working on different scenes at the same time, so even if we put them on an ending each, their content would be arriving at the same time. Let's just say, it's unlikely.

The game is very good, it's going in the right direction.I was wondering if you're going to focus on one character per update?

Glad to hear the work goes well. I hope we’ll see some scenes between Sue and the boxing instructor. Have a good one!
