Maxim Hover Concept Sketch

Round two, flavor two.
Utility and objective based vehicles will make a strong appearance in this first run. Many of you are itching to get into combat with vee rules, but some may find themselves either disinterested or overwhelmed by the prospect of even more rules after just learning the 1 million data tables a mech needs.
At a minimum, players will be able to make good use of utility vehicles as objective tokens to spice up their campaign/scenario play. I fall into this camp too, fun narrative games are more enjoyable to me than playing to win.

So here's the Maxim transport hovercraft. Redesigned by me, I felt few people would be too attached to the upside down bathtub that the original design was. Instead I turned to modern transport hovers mixed with (good) retro scifi and my usual personal look.

What do ya think?
This one is free to share around, so please go post it and refer people here so they can see everything that's coming!

I know I keep beating this drum, but once again I will repeat myself that I love seeing more vehicles like this. It’s hard to grasp what the mechs are or their scale without the inclusion of support and other vehicles that really brings it all together. Plus they add a really cool dynamic to tabletop battles other than ‘Mech Lance X vs Mech Lance Y alpha strike eachother’

I love the maxim - My Mercs use it exclusively for their infantry APCs. And this is a mich needed improvement on the upside down bath-tub!

Dammit, Anthony! After I spent last year making almost weekly stops at IWM to cherry-pick my vees, you're updating every single one of 'em!

John Kraemer

Very Modern, I like it! Do the Bandit and Badger next!

Robert Moore

Looks good. Should be easy to mod to my F-series headcannon hovercraft too

Matthew Morris

That's a good idea. I also have a human size scale figure that we use with the vehicles.

One more question, as i hope for some 3d renders sometime in the future: Would it be possible to set a Maxim next to an Elemental and a 50t mech? I´m really curious to see how the scaling worked with the tanks and vehicles.

Utility and objective-based vees, you say.. (imagines a convoy of J27 Ordnance Transports)

Sorry... one more thing. If you felt like teasing the Shogun and Whitworth then my Zeta Battalion pre-Crossing would be very appreciative :)

Long time fan, first time Patreon.... :) ermagawd... Fall 2022 cannot come soon enough! So many wonderful vehicles (I'm sure), so many "oh my goodness, how long have I been waiting for" 3025 mechs, some awesome IIC's (going to need to buy another of the current IIC mech pack) and some bonus mechs I never expected... nobody tell my wife 'cause I know where the kids Christmas money is actually going to be spent this year :D

True, it just seemed like a waste of all that art. I myself loved the Legends book. Since that book had a bit of a different goal, color schemes pics would be easier to replicate in a book if the originals of the card arts are large enough. Also those sites you mention contain interpretations of written descriptions mostly when you peeps also made 100 cards with 200 color schemes.

Dude! Both Vehicles so far: Sexy!
