So Close!

I can almost count the remaining kickstarter sculpts we're working on in both hands. If we ignore the ones idling at 90% done, almost countable in one hand!

Such a long line that they look like tiny ants just fitting them on screen.

That really is cool. This has been such a massive undertaking, and the body of worth is truly epic. I so wanted to see the higher resolution version of that image. :0)

Well, on the subject of the plastic minis do you think CGL will make arrangements for people who want individual mechs instead of having to buy a pack of four or five to get the one they want or need?

Tyler Erickson

Nope you've seen it all. Mechs aren't added to the lineup until they're essentially finished, and I've been making an effort to show all these last ones off asap.

Anthony Scroggins

Even if IWM somehow ramped up to 10 mechs a quarter, unheard of for them, that still about a year just to get them out. And I don't think they'll do that, maybe 5 a quarter at best? I'm thinking what would be smart for them is to first go for the most popular mechs, then only mold the rest if they have proper demand. Gotta keep in mind that while someone is always out there that wants the metals, the total demand is heavily reduced by the thousands of plastic minis that will be on the market, for cheaper too. Such as, will they really want to mold up a Crockett? And yes Tyler, IWM stuff is always a case of mini by mini on quality. Scale, shrinkage, mold slip, mold cracks, and other things can all come into play, and each mini comes out with a different combination and severity that each person needs to judge for themselves.

Anthony Scroggins

So maybe wait and see what the metal versions of my 3 mechs look like before I make a decision? I want my starter lance to have a Battlemaster, a Thunderbolt and 2 Shadow Hawks.

Tyler Erickson

That percentage difference is wildly inaccurate. There's maybe a 3-5% difference in size between the two, as can be seen in the forum posts. What I've seen looks like there's little difference between the two, but the only one I have an opinion on is that I like the plastic Griffin a bit better.

Raymond White

Ant Mechs.

James Abbot-Cole

I have tried to blow this picture up but it blurs after a certain point, is there anything new in the lineup?

Robert Moore

So in your opinion which are superior the plastic or the metal versions?

Tyler Erickson

Oh great so while they're making them now it sounds like they're doing a crappy job. To be clear, these are the resculpts done by Anthony Scroggins and his team correct?

Tyler Erickson

Hopefully, IWM will speed up bring them out if the line sells well enough. The Catapult and Locust come with parts to make several of their variants. I picked up the Griffin, it's nice and scales very well with the plastic piece, but had a bad mold slip on the waist, so waiting on a replacement part. FYI, the Catalpult IWM sculpt is, unfortunately, about 15-20% smaller than the Plastic version: https://bg.battletech.com/forums/tips-and-tricks/size-comparisons-for-the-locust-griffin-and-catapult/

Brian Sausley

What is this, a line up for ants? Super cool to see your team in the home stretch!

Raymond White

They've started, but their production capacity is limited with only 4 new designs or so each quarter. They are now producing the Locust, Catapult, and Griffin with the Thunderbolt and Commando coming next quarter.

Raymond White

Impressive and well done. Do you think once the kickstarter minis are done CGL will FINALLY green light Ironwind Metals to start producing metal versions of all your wonderful mechs?

Tyler Erickson

Wow! Looking forward to this so much it ain't funny. Thank you and the rest of the Battletech art team for this amazing work.
