Marauder IIC Concept Sketch

Took a while to finalize the legs on these. I would have preferred to go with the original stick legs if possible, even though they're a little whimsical, but the majority of in house feedback leaned for something a bit more bulky.

I think your original Marauder looks way better than what MWO came up with, and the fact that they look different is amazing. This is my favorite of the three, and I love that you can not only tell them apart, but that their looks fit their lore.

This is already one of my favorite mechs of all time, and I was always so disappointed that the original got discontinued because of the whole VMI thing... as nice as the Project Phoenix version was, it just wasn't really the same mech, you know? This is everything that's wonderful about the original but with greater detail and some small but interesting changes. I too miss the spindly legs, but even beefed up, they've kept the same shape and basic profile as the original. Stellar job. I cannot wait to get my hands on one!

I'm flipping back and forth between the Marauder II, and the IIC. I'm thinking the II has better up-close/ground visibility. In the IIC, you're going to need cameras to pick your way through rubble.

2019-09-30 07:54:43 +0000 UTCProblem is you can only make the Japanese style stick legs work up to a certain size before they look bad, so I have to use the Phoenix IIC looks instead. So still a IIC, but not the purist design I wanted.

2019-09-30 05:55:07 +0000 UTCThis looks Great! but I feel the legs are off, The lower legs have too much of the shape of the original and little of the IIC. I am fine with bulking them up a little, but I think they should still keep the overall shape.
