Something I'm curious about-Patreon sketch commissions
Added 2022-04-27 13:03:08 +0000 UTCHow would you guys feel about it?
I'd love to be able to do it sometime, but I also want to figure out a way to do it without it being overwhelming.

I have an idea even though i'm late (oops i just found ur patreon). Patron only google form with only 1 submission. Keep it open for ~3 days. You could then choose randomly who to do until you have finished said list. Just say "hey if you enter then there's no promise when you'll get picked."

2022-04-29 01:09:08 +0000 UTCMaybe similar to the way Brae does it, although I don't think ya stream too often, no?

2022-04-28 12:46:53 +0000 UTCThat's a thing too. I'm not entirely partial to the raffle idea because of the TOS, plus a large chance of somebody not getting a commission, should this Patreon get larger.

2022-04-28 02:46:04 +0000 UTCI actually kinda like that, and it can be done to an extent where it's not too bad as far as workload.

2022-04-28 02:45:12 +0000 UTCA lot of good ideas here. Thanks for bringing them on you guys, it's really helping a bunch \o/

2022-04-28 02:41:56 +0000 UTCI've seen other artists set aside slots when they open normally. If they're opening for 6 they'll make 2 of those patreon only (first dibs type thing then they open if no one takes them).

2022-04-28 01:51:02 +0000 UTCAnother alternative way people do it is at one tier people can submit suggestions for you to draw, you filter them or add some based on what interests you, and then at a lower tier people can vote - then you draw the top x slots. That way, your art production doesn't get out of hand when more people join either of those tiers. This works best if you have a list of well-known characters that people will likely request.

Note this is for a tier where the whole point of the tier is that you get y type of art however consistently Task decides he can.

2022-04-27 21:51:41 +0000 UTCI'd be down with it. I can see discounts being probable. An outright commission tier (like EnderPon mentioned) is another probable method. Its your call to make either way.

2022-04-27 18:36:53 +0000 UTCThe question is, what would prevent a suspiciously wealthy furry from parking a spot every month, keeping out people who have to actually wait for the opportunity to jump in? What if the person in a slot requests something that just isn't on the menu?

2022-04-27 17:32:55 +0000 UTCIt is? Someone better tell Toki. Her entire patronage is based on a raffle where you have a...1:2958 chance to get chosen.

2022-04-27 17:28:28 +0000 UTCI became a patreon to comment lol There are several ways you could do it. Many artists will make a tier, block it off to x number of people, and every month they get whatever quality of sketch you can provide. Some artists will make that every other month, or alternating months--if 5 of 10 people get art in the first month, the second half get art in the second. If you do warmup sketches, you could add a perk to allow people to add their characters to your sketch pool. Or like suggested earlier, a submission process per month.

2022-04-27 17:20:09 +0000 UTCWhile a raffle system would be ideal, the point of it being against patreon's TOS would probably mean that's a no go. I think the idea submission thing Dusk suggested might be a good one, with an additional caveat of once a person gets a sketch they need to wait for a bit before submitting another idea
