Lacking Energy, in so many ways. Back soon as the lights come back on
Added 2025-02-17 19:57:07 +0000 UTCSmall delay in uploading. I have a Milo chapter almost ready to go and two more plotted, and a few Butcher yards thought out. Lights have been out for two days, and ETA is 1:30 am (which they said yesterday as well)
Sitting in a dark house, with no heat, in the winter, with the flu...no fun.
Hopefully power will come on and warmth and being able to write will help me feel better. Borrowing a computer at work on the way to get take out to do updates. My daughter and I stared at each other today, bored, with all dead phones. Charging phones while we wait on the food.
Hopefully, back tomorrow.

I'm sure by now you are feeling better, but hope you stay healthy!

2025-03-30 06:49:28 +0000 UTCWe have a small gas fireplace, mostly for ambiance. But it helps. The gas burners in the kitchen help some too. But there is a downside to a big old house from 1892. (Many, actually, but it was too cool not to buy 30 years ago. Still fixing it up.)

2025-02-18 01:05:26 +0000 UTCWhat a miserable time! Something similar happened to me a month ago. Only for me it was 3 days with no heat. Do what you need to do to be healthy and warm. Thanks for the update. Also, small blessing- at least the toilet still works.

2025-02-18 00:12:02 +0000 UTCIf I may suggest, grid tied solar with battery backup if you own your home. Pays for itself eventually (years, it's not quick), and you can have as much battery backup as you want. A few days of battery isn't unreasonable, plus the solar panels, you're effectively never out of power even if the grid goes down...and when the grid is up you have no electric bill. There's also the much less expensive and less powerful Jackery sort of system, which is a "solar generator" aka a battery with a small amount of solar panels and preinstalled outlets for you to plug in whatever you need. If you use a low power computer, like a laptop, something like this could be all you need to keep your computer and phones charged. I'll be spending the rest of my day staring at MY power outlet and thinking how it lets me down in that it doesn't supply power to YOUR computer all the way over there whereever you're at. Frown. Oh, and Hoyle's book of Games. It's all games that can be played with a deck of cards, dozens upon dozens of games. Always good to keep in a cabinet for times like this lol. Thanks for the update. Hope things start looking up for you soon. If you were my neighbor I'd bring you a generator. :/

2025-02-17 20:15:38 +0000 UTCJeez la weez, you’ve had quite the week. I urge you to take 10 mg of zinc to help you get better faster. Try going to the local library to stay warm and have power. If you get one of those power bank batteries you can charge that where there is power and use it to charge your phones where you don’t have power. I hope you feel better and get power and warmth again. Wishing luck your way. Feel better!
