I feel like the people who aren’t Xhaka fans read too much into what he does, it’s been reported by people at the game Xhaka wasn’t meant to have the band tierney was I have no problem with Xhaka not taking the band heck most people don’t want him wearing it anyway.

All in all a great podcast again, pretty much nailed all the talking points, agree with the Xhaka armband bit, also think like Clive, once the game kicked off it became quickly apparent we didn’t need him. I thought maybe ESR could of came in and Pepe could of gone on a wing. Particularly enjoyed the moment between Clive and Scott at 40:50. Both Scott and Clive ended up talking at once…they then both realised they were talking over each other so both decide to let the other talk resulting in silence; then both hear the silence and think “oh he’s letting me talk” so both start talking again ha ha Clive just powered through in the end to sort the moment out.

Xhaka didn’t want the arm band because it was supposed to go to KT. If anything - the story here is that KT is next in line for captain after lacazette. Please don’t discuss Xhaka’s behavior as an issue because it is not

If you guys do a rewatch, maybe it's interesting to talk about our forwards movement in possession. Feel they could do much more there to invite through balls. Now, we look a bit static and very much dependent on our one v ones. Yet, we have the speed, intelligence and midfielders to do much more there. Which leans in to the discussion if we should replace Lacazette with Martinelli to enable this.

Just on the point raised about Xhaka not being needed in this game, agree with that however his height at times was definitely welcome. Felt like him & Partey won a lot of aerial duels to retain possession whereas someone like ESR wouldn't have been able to do that?

Is Xhaka rejecting the armband not a moot point as he's most likely off in the summer and as a fan base mostly all willing and wanting to move on from him?

Rather ESR on the flank rather than false 9. All of his most effective work this season has been from lw, when he's got more time and space compared to crowded centre of the pitch

On xhaka I always wonder why can't so called exp and matured adults behave like absolute kids. The easiest thing would have been to accept the band and pass it on to Tierney. There was no need to be make it into a public spectacle. If he is Hurst balls to him let him get out of the club. Wonder how such a public display from a senior pro helps in building club culture. Same with Arteta made his personal rivalry wiht some of his players a public spectacle and an on going soap opera. Doesn't it hurt the club culture. Such negative vibes on such a good day of football. Absolute shambles as to how Arteta is handling the squad. Elliot pls stop talking about spurs. Who cares about Xhaka and the armband? We told him we didn’t want him to be captain. I don’t blame him for not wanting the arm band it’s not that big of a deal and we’re making more of it than we should.
