On this edition of the Arsenal Vision Post Match Podcast, Elliot (@yankeegunner) is joined by Clive (@clivepafc) and Tim (@stillberto) to discuss a disappointing home draw to Burnley that saw the big moments go begging. The conversation starts with a focus on the striker situation and the need to convert in the big moments. Then there’s a general discussion about the situation with the squad before the conversation moves to the reasons Arsenal struggled to create openings specifically in the first half. The good period in the second half is analyzed and then the substitutions that happened and didn’t happen. A few individuals are discussed before the group briefly looks ahead. Out, not us

The view on the ease of which red cards are given us nonsensical. Without the deterrent of the card the game would become less appealing due to even more tactical fouling and time wasting. Also the challenges will become more dangerous as the players will sense the easing of the chance of punishment.

It's better to have a bad January than a bad February .few days still left of the transfer window, so here's hoping.

Let's just say, go Rams! If they win KSE will be more willing to splash the cash

There's a great chapter about false 9's in the premier league in a book by Michael Cox. Fascinating stuff about the likes of Rooney, RVP and Tevez

just playing devils advocate a bit on ESR. Yes, he's great, we love him. He was , as Clive says . mainly responsible for our most threatening passage of the game. But having watched him for a while, i think his issue is stamina in games and i don't think he quite has the gas for 90 mins of real intensity so I'm not upset that Arteta took him off. It's clear to me he can get a bit sloppy in certain passages of a game , doesn't join in the team press as much as the others.. and clearly just looks gassed...and that's most games...that's what i've seen anyway.

Readjusting expectations probably wasn't the wisest thing for the fans, we have or at least sound like the club when it was signing sokratis, trying to get any and which deal through for a slight chance... Progress was top 6 this year and Europe We don't seem ready to make that dangling 4th place ours this season but I think we can after having more than just 13 players. We know what we lack, it makes no sense to break the bank now instead of following the schedule, it seems a PRETTY GOOD CHANCE now but if we fuck it up and end up with an expensive 3rd choice choice that would set us back. I'm pretty patient and don't expect a team assembled 6 months ago and finding its feet after 4 months to suddenly challenge top 4 limping as it is now

On Sambi as Clive mentioned he is single pivot on the day and that means a change in the way he always plays. His positioning on the day was not correct most times. He was not in between lines and couldn't receive any pass. I also noticed the CBs didnt want to pass to him as well. Wonder what the coaches were doing about his positioning. Did they talk to him? I was watching closely Jorginhio after to figure out how other teams play through the middle, his positioning was always between lines waiting to receive ball in half turn not with his back to the forwards. There is a lesson there. We played the best football when Arteta was not in the technical area against Man C. Just saying we have to look at this more closely.

Totally agree. It's funny how certain aspects of the pod actual become part of the brand.

I also thought that Roma desperately needed another player and demanded Arsenal sell them Ainsley right away or call off the deal. They threw AMN in at right back basically the first day they got him on the books. Though, all of this might have been tabloid hogwash. I can't quite remember where I picked that up.

Weird that now that I’m a patron I actually miss the manscaped ad humor (and Clive discomfort)

On Ainsley, he was already starting to leak to Ornstein that Arsenal were standing in his way with Roma. He has very publicly moaned twice before about how he's treated, bringing a lot of negative headlines to the club, and I think the club had fallen out with him before January.

Jake Walker

Arkaduisz Milik anyone? I’m like Clive, on constant CF lookout especially now vlahovic looks less likely
