That Conny cameo caught me off guard but that was cool.

Sukuna came out for Mahito’s domain because mahito’s technique (also his domain obv) touches the soul. In normal circumstances Yuji being hit with a domain wouldn’t touch Sukuna’s soul

My take on season 3 as a manga reader? I think the adaption tries too hard to be cinematic at times and ruins the vibe that the manga sets up. I’m all for creative liberties but I don’t think everything needs to be changed, some things are fine 1:1. But it’s “good” not perfect imo

I definitely miss the vibe of season 2 and the Shibuya incident especially; but the vibe of this season is so cool in its own totally different way; the powers, the cinematography, the characters, the transitions, the action sequences, the music, the humor; the art style as Carter said; so many things; it's so cool !

I think it’s really good, I’m really liking it, however my favorite thing this anime season is still Fate Strange Fake

Sorry this got really long so long paragraphs ahead! I think it’s the limitations. Jjk being a shounen was already a limitation itself, the genre used to be the thing that got me reluctant to read the series. Hell the first time I interact with the series was s1 ep 7, the Gojo’s Domain ep. Did not like that episode especially visually, the flashy/rage fight scenes of shounens for most parts feel detached and a bit silly to me (because of me not feeling anything that’s reeling my emotions in) Ended up starting JJK to catch up with my friend who was watching it, and I was surprised. While the visuals were still generic, but the dialogues were great. I didn’t realize conversations can still sound natural on TV that doesn’t feel like an A to B, B to A, but rather the character is in presence with one another, not just dialogue but the way they notice each other’s shift of emotions mid sentence, underlying understanding without having the same “no I get you” but rather just two people talking about their duties and last a moment of silence afterwards (Itadori and Nobara, Nobara and Megumi). The ep with Junpei, Itadori and the mother is when it clicks for me like this series is exactly the story for me; Junpei’s mom talk about school and society being aquariums, Junpei’s about people not having hearts and Itadori’s about the value of life once you disregard a life at your own hand. It is how HUMAN the story ended up being about, and for a universe of cursed spirits and sorcery superpowers, it’s kind of funny and really fucking good. Because there ended up being questions about how far you dig your humane identity under for the people you love? Understanding the sins of what you’re about to do, and the consequences that comes with it. Shonen is the genre that’s easiest to reach a big amount of audience, the author went in this genre and tried out the limitations to which stories he can tell. But because it’s shonen, it’s easier to be stuck in between a never ending clash of opinions. Is the story fitting for teenage boys? The story too complex for the genre? And if it is should it not be allowed critics upon because of the compromise of trying-to-not-be-axed by the publisher (+ trying to not run the series more than x amount of years or else you would get burnt out and go on indefinite hiatus) But despite all that, Gege does risk by telling the stories he actually wants with JJK later on as he became more sure of himself and the series’s stability itself. It comes with a couple of drawbacks of not getting the spotlight of getting drawn out longer or blueballed, but so many great moments hits HITS, for me if not anyone else, showcasing how great his pen can be. Which I think is why JJK also get harsh backlash, great characters only to appear for only a bit compare to the usual pacing of other series. Well I’m now in college and literally grew up with the series, I would say this series end up being a very close thing to my heart and resonates with how I see life. I mean it’s sad to see someone who downplays the media dear to you as “slop carried by visuals”, “all that writing for nothing” (which I still don’t see that) when I got into JJK because of the writing in the first place.

I agree it's been "boiling the frog" this season so far. I love how it's been slowly building this new world and the backstories of the new members. It's just needing a little bit of patience for it all to come together for the grand finale lol. I love the animation this season, and it's refreshing to see how the music and art direction takes the anime to a new level. (side note: watching this episode the second time hits so much harder; literally got chills when judgment was being served ;)

I’m assuming his domain is like a trial, so if yuji is “innocent” he will be fine. Idk how that will work in like a fight setting though. Also “dropping a bomb” is a metaphor. I don’t think he means a literal bomb lol.

I’m an anime only watcher and I’m enjoying it. I look forward to it each week! But I do think the artsy vibe is king of carrying the plot. Just personal opinion. But I’m not complaining. It’s a good show. Not my favorite but it’s definitely not bad, I look forward to seeing where the culling game is going.
