2025-12-25 05:56:19 +0000 UTCI get what you mean by the “typical shonen formula”, early on it’s kinda doing the underdog/outcast + learning-the-world/power-system setup. I think a lot of shonen feels formulaic at first just because it’s laying the groundwork. But imo Gachiakuta is one of those shows where the uniqueness of the story isn’t fully obvious this early. The world/themes start separating it from the usual formula.

The mangaka subverting the trope of the typical "anime boss" look is very refreshing to see :)

Just gives off this really calm vibe while the larger jacket over his shoulders gives off a real badass General Of The Armies one. The voice actor does a gteat job, too. And Merry Christmas to y'all!
