PL Roundup - Perpetual Football Edition

Elliot, Tim and Paul get together to discuss non-Arsenal football ... mostly. The pod starts with a discussion that covers Spurs, Chelsea, United and City. Then the feature section touches on the perpetual football schedule and its impact on the game as a whole. The final discussion is a sobering look at the table and what Arsenal can really achieve.

All this talk of some August event has got me very excited boys...You guys got me through lockdown (don’t tell the mrs) and an arsenal vision party would be the perfect way to end it. Love you all

Also, I like watching a game on mute while listening to this podcast and don't care who it is. It's all just 22 blokes chasing a pig's bladder around a field at the end of the day. ;-)

Gents, I don't see the problem of two shifts of football on a weeknight and 'having' to watch the proverbial Burnley v Palace or whoever because, at the risk of stating the blindingly obvious, no-one has to watch it. Fans of those clubs can watch it

Also I've been meaning to say, you guys are all fabulous and this is the only football podcast i need, thanks very much! Also also i can't get enough of Elliott's patron love, it's really nice to have one more person as well as my mum who loves me

Just a thought on teams pushing for super League, they're incentive may also be that by keeping the super League on the table, it strengthens their hand in negotiating within the premier League for example, by threatening their departure if they don't get rules that go their way. Not to say they're not genuinely keen on it as well, particularly for the money. Also worth a conversation could be the power of the players in deciding footballs direction. Football players have, i think, the highest Union registration, something like 90 plus percent are in their union. That makes them a powerful force in negotiating for changes they want as well potentially

my only concern is where would you play van de beek? he likes to stay close to the box and is a good finisher

Exactly!

Yes Tim, I listen to ALL AVP pods.

I'd like to see van de Beek at Arsenal. The guy is class and he does not deserve to be a bench warmer at United in my opinion. Pretty sure Bergkamp would agree with the transfer as well.
