Brilliant way to start my morning 😊

You missed the auba no look pass in the 2nd minute! The hat trick was on from then !

Loving these rewatches, I really feel that Clive and Elliot pair well together to reflect on the performances and tease out details I miss on first viewing. Keep up the excellent work fellas, love going on my walks in the beautiful San Francisco weather (sorry Elliot) with you guys in my ears. COYG

To be fair I’ve also done a bit better with setting the levels

Get outside Elliot! The cold air does wonders for your health! Greetings from a Finland ;)

Have to say it been such an improvement with Clive having a proper microphone! I cant actually recall when the new one was put in action, but it was always bugging me for a long time that you sometime had a hard time hearing his warm muzzling voice properly. Now its just tendering to my brittle soul

Too kind! As for your points about the Lacazette debate, I definitely see your point there. I think the reason it winds up being a talking point for me so often is that it’s still remains unclear to me who the manager really wants up top and how he wants his striker to play. And I also suspect that he’s not necessarily done using both of them together with a Aubameyang on the left. And obviously I just hope that we have sort of evolved past that because I think we’ve seen that there’s more to come from this attack with more natural wide players on either side of the central striker. So I guess it winds up breaking down to an either/or debate but you’re right that it certainly doesn’t need to happen all the time or always be a comparison

Love the touch and set from ESR for the 3rd goal, so calm!

Should add (as if my first post was not long enough): @YankeeGunner really appreciate what you do along with the rest of the guys! the podcasts you guys put out are the only thing keeping me sane in this lockdown where I only get to see 1-2 people on a regular basis. Love your holistic perspective on sports business + club building and bluntness! (promise my next post will be a short 1 liner)

awesome game & great commentary!! the depth & amount of quality content from you guys is astounding! @YankeeGunner as a small point (but please read it constructive). You seem aware/reticent of having Auba praise devolve into Lacazette criticism. As a listener, I think part of the problem (and this might be patreon only) is that I feel like you bring this point up in every instant reaction + podcast) and this has the effect of making it sound like you just dont like lacazette. I know that some repetition between paid/non-paid content is unavoidable. But I think the medium (audio only, more listener attention) and audience (very loyal, like in-depth analysis that takes longer than the actual games) is worth considering. At this point, the pros/cons of the debate seems to have been laid out. Ive seen games where Auba seemed incapable of making these passes & ones like Villa where Laca didnt seem to make an impact. Likely Auba that stays & that Laca might go somewhere else to be a starter--but thats in the summer at the earliest. Untill then, he deserves our respect as one of our key players this season. He played a part in some memorable goals & seems to have been a great presence for ESR. Not to mention the fact that for most of this season, we didnt have the high touch 3 man line (Saka, MO, and ESR) that now seems so set in stone (so its a bit unfair to say we should have always played with Auba up top). I cant speak for the fanbase, but seems like everyone has always viewed Auba as the better/bigger striker; but for many seasons Laca has been here as well, and I will be sad to see him go if/when he leaves. I guess what I am trying to say is, at this point we all know what the situation is. I don't think its conducive to hammer the point in anymore--I hope that there are plenty of moments left for both Laca and Auba this season, but really hope the podcast can be ok with praising both/either when they do well.

Great content as usual guys! Off of vibes alone, Xhaka must have played a season high amount of right foot passes.

Not a bad player to emulate

For the record Elliot, that move from Aubameyang in the box on Luiz's pass was Trezeguet's signature move. He was the best on it

I couldn’t bring myself to finish watching the last one, because I knew we lost, looking forward to this, it’s even got goals! 👍

Finally! 😁 I've been refreshing my patreon app all morning in anticipation of this!

Ive been waiting all morning for this
