This game hurt so much I’ve waited till now to listen to this pod lol

I really believe there’s a team here ready to express themselves going forward. The topic about arteta coming to terms with his current line ups limitations should revolve a lot more around lacazette and the false 9 role, and how it sets a precedent for our teams attacking character. It seems everyones accommodating for him and his inability to play anywhere other than the final third central areas. I’d say it has now become urgent to drop the two struggling players in lacazette and to a lesser degree, bellerin, with pepe and AMN. if we accept that basically none of our forwards are any good with their backs to goal, I see no reason not to give pepe a chance at CF. It means he can drift out to the right central spaces and give Willian the touch line whilst AMN plays a more conservative role at RB. Basically as pepe moves right the whole team anchors over to that side of the pitch meaning we put more faith in Gabrielle to defend the space down the left flank. You bring laca on for pepe and bellerin on for Willian late in a game for defensive solidity. That feels like balance !!

Hey guys, how do I join the Discord?

always great guys. it seems we are asking similar questions of Arteta now that were asked of Emery. i agree Elliot what was terrible to see was once we got down 2-0. it was over. contrast with Chelsea, when they got 3-0 down in an earlier game this season, you could see they were dangerous and they ended up tying, almost winning the game.

Not sure the defence deserved to be let off for this ep

When I see Willian in instead of Pepe, I feel like we might as well play five at the back with five midfielders.

Personally, I think that Arteta knows the issues but also thinks that he can either field a team that tries to win 3-2 or a team that tries to win 1-0, and he thinks he can do the latter against teams big and small more consistently, so he doesn't change things. Not sure I agree with it, but I think he's resigned to this until he gets the legs into the team that can do both. Also: Pepe should be playing ST, if we want to play like this. He can't do Laca's work pressing, but he's an elite finisher, and really, really good at taking players on in space when they can't sit on his weak foot like they can on the byline. All his dribbling highlights from last year were of him in central spaces - the 180 nutmeg turn from early on for example was near the center circle. Play him at CF, let him do the distribution and link up as a "false 9". Bring Laca on late in games if you need that kind of forward to see out games.

May be Arteta is like a Simeone rather than a Pep. Why do we keep thinking he will attack ..

Great episode guys.

Do you believe we will see change after the break?

Too many people were adamant that Partey transforms us. Before Partey we were a team that could give "big 6" teams a game and struggled against everyone else. After Partey we are a team that can give "big 6" teams a game but struggle against everyone else.

Great episode! Listening to the panel was vey cathartic but just reiterated, for me, the glaring issues staring Arteta in the face - like Clive said. Arteta has a decison to make now about certain players...

Grealish bodying Bellerin for the third goal was a joke I’ve not seen him move that fast since he did his ACL

Always love listening to you guys, different perspective but all held together by the love for the club. Let’s hold hands, bow our heads and cry at this horror...
