Commission for Drake - HD Reward

*EDIT: I recently learned the patron who commissioned this piece passed away a day or so after I finished it. Beyond tragic and I'm deeply saddened by it as they were nothing short of an incredibly kind and considerate individual. I will miss hearing from them and seeing their comments and such here. I'm glad I took this further than we originally agreed upon and I'm thankful they got to see it before their passing. Here is a tweet from their partner about it. Rest in Peace, Drake.

     Hey all!  My apologies for being so quiet lately. Hope you have all been well and are enjoying your summer/staying cool if you can! Thank you and welcome to any new patrons who have come along as well <3

    I've been thinking through and working toward a handful of things myself - I will be making a much lengthier post in the near future about that and my plans going forward.

    For now I thought I'd share with you all the finished version of a commission I took from one of your fellow patrons, Thedragonslord!

    Originally this was going to be sort of a guinea pig/example of a simple sort of commission style that would include refined flat colors and a simple background. Well, I gotta say I wasn't a big fan of how the flats of my background looked without any sort of shading.. SO I opted to just push this further than I originally planned and give it more  atmosphere. 

    Good lesson to learn at least! In the future I will just keep backgrounds reserved for fully shaded images I think. I will make simpler example before I take on another commission like this so people can know that to expect. Probably of Relta because we gotta show her love :D
