I've seen my girlfriend neck the yogurt water too. I cringe yelled as I she did it. She's Turkish and there's a popular drink there called Ayran that is basically like drinking plain, slightly salty yogurt. I told her the only way I could drink it is by adding some type of fruit or honey in it, and SHE cringed! To each their own.
