The whole interaction with Martinez and them drink was Martinez basically putting a target on his back. First, getting drunk around him was a big mistake. Second, Lily saying this was the first time she has felt safe as if Brian aka the governor/Phillip wasn't standing right there. She bruised his ego badly. Then third, for Martinez to say he wasn't sure if he could keep the place safe was the final nail in his coffin. The Govenor never allowed people to think he didn't have things under control and even when Rick and company came in to get Glenn, Maggie, and Daryl he was like this happened because we let the people have it to good. We gave them BBQs and coddled them.
