February 22nd Necroepilogos chapter will be delayed by one week

Hello everyone!

This week’s Necroepilogos chapter will be delayed by one week — both the patron advance chapter and the public chapter. Necroepilogos will resume as normal on the 29th of February.

My apologies for this! I really hoped I wasn’t going to have to take this break, which is why I didn’t plan for it last week. Don’t worry; everything behind the scenes is absolutely fine, I’m healthy and well, both myself and the story are in good shape. I had hoped to jump straight from the end of arc 9, through the interlude, and into arc 10, without any more than the usual amount of time spent on outlining, plotting, and structure work. But, well, for anybody who’s been following Necroepilogos, you’ve probably seen how it’s expanded beyond my wildest expectations. Arc 9 was also explosively complicated, the climax of a first informal ‘book’, and sets up a lot of structure for the long-term future of the story.

Because of this — coupled with some irritating (but not dangerous) personal issues this last weekend — I’ve had to spend a lot more time than I expected elbow-deep in the guts of the story. So, rather than risking a half-finished and messy chapter to start us off in arc 10, I’m declaring an intentional 1-week break in the release schedule, while I continue with the necromancy, so to speak. Anything else would risk undermining quality; the story itself deserves better than that, as do all of you.

I’ll still be working as normal, just on getting these zombies dusted off and back on their feet. If anything, this is probably the right moment to do it, here in the limbo state between arcs 9 and 10. Think of it as a small break between meta-arcs, perhaps?

Again, my apologies; I know many readers really really value and enjoy my regular posting times. I wish I’d planned for this properly. I think I was biting off a tiny bit more than I can chew. If you’re new here, don’t worry, this doesn’t happen often, I’ve never taken a break for this reason before. I promise I’ll do my best, and things should be back to normal next week.

And for anybody worrying — no, Katalepsis is not affected by this. Katalepsis will be published at the usual time, on Saturday.
