Making Devlogs with Code - Motion Canvas

Motion Canvas has been my secret project for some time now and I'm excited to finally talk about it: what it is, why it is, and how I use it to make animations for my devlogs.

I'm so happy I found that devlog! As a motion graphics artist who's got a lot to do with statistics and data visualization, that looks absolutely incredible. I'm looking forward to trying it out and supporting in any way I can! :-)

I'm really excited to get my hands on this. Became a Patreon specifically to get access sooner :) Programmatic animation is something that's interested me for a long time. My previous attempt at it was... considerably less ergonomic than Motion Canvas. https://github.com/JoshuaWalsh/lyrsync I'm really excited about the Event Tracks you showed briefly, I'm hoping to be able to hack on them to add beat detection for easily synchronising animations to music. I've also got a trick regarding CSS Animations that I'm interested to see if I can get to work within Motion Canvas, because I think declarative animations can be useful in certain situations. Also I can't believe I didn't know about the WebCodecs API until now. I've been complaining about the lack of frame-accurate seeking holding back development of browser-based NLEs for a long time, I'm super happy to hear that this appears to finally be solved. (EDIT: Shame it's not supported in FF yet) Your 7 minute video touched on a LOT of niche things that I'm passionate about. I'm very glad I saw it.
