2025-03-21 16:55:36 +0000 UTCThat's a dance that One Piece got to handle all the time. They can't just go to the big Luffy fight, as it's essentially the final one. So they have to be creative about how to separate him (and Zorro) from the rest. And unsurprisingly, Oda's been pretty skilled at that , finding new ways to either occupy Luffy or get rid of him, to make the other shine or waste some time. The only low point imho was Luffy stuck inside the Skypeia snake...a nice gag that lasted way too long. Since then Luffy barely get stuck in walls or stuff for more than a couple episodes or chapters.. it's now handled differently

I imagine the bounty system will start to feel a bit meaningless after a few hundred episodes to be honest. But enjoying your reactions and trying out things to add interest to the reactions

2025-03-08 11:44:04 +0000 UTCYou are correct in observing that Luffy in particular does so far tend to get nerfed a lot for the big fights. Remember when he got lost on the way in the Kuro fight? Or when he was in a slab of concrete (Self-inserted no less) in the Arlong fight? And now stuck between two buildings. It's awkward bit it serves the purpose and we get the big moments later.
