I hate when reactors assume Daeho is a traitor or just coward and never the mosy obvious explanation that he has PTSD. I know right away what was happening to him poor guy. Look up the real incident his character is based off of in his military class 1140th class in 2011, there was a lot of torture/bullying of people and someone shot and killed people on their own team. That could cause a lot of PTSD for someone in that situation.

my predictions for the next half
- triangle girl didnt kill the dad, will try to use him as a way to "reconcile" w the organ ppl, but actually hide/save the dad somehow
- some of the red-pajama staff not happy with how disposable they are (e.g front man letting the riot go crazy, shooting at them till he was tired of playing his role) and also start sabotaging things from the inside.
- gi hun comes to terms with some squid game ppl are really shitty and he wont try to save them all as earnestly/loses sight of saving them in quest for revenge

The other person means it's dystopian to recreate squid game specifically. The entire point of the show is criticizing this format of making people chase money for entertainment. To make it in real life is to completely miss the point of the show.

Well it's a reality show. It's almost normal that it's going to be dystopian to a certain level. But it stays true to a degree to what Squid Game is and it is still fun to watch and backup the person you want to win. These shows are a social lesson, that's why i love them. They create a small society.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who saw that, I was waiting for them to like her character because she's my favorite from season 2. I'm so disappointed 😔

Hey guys, i just want to mention that i resently found out that there is a reality show for Squid Game where 456 contestants actually participate in the game till one remains and wins a ton of money (of course the eliminated ones don't get killed this time but its made in a way that they seem like they really get eliminated). It was extremely interesting and would suggest checking it out. It's on Netflix and it's called Squid Games The Challenge

Did Carlie and Ange ever realise that Hyun-ju was Jae-jun from the glory?

There's this scene in S1 where Gihun says to Il-Nam that he hates milk and hands him the carton, and Il-Nam responds saying his son also hates milk. Then we see Frontman say he hates milk, offering his carton away to someone else.

From what I have seen, not once did they acknowledge Hyun-ju's moments (the trans-woman character). All of her shinning moments either got editted out or no words at all. Am I missing something here?

I really liked s2, I think it deals with different things in comparison to s1. Gi-hun's plan at the end was damn idiotic for 10 people to go against a whole army but whatever. Alice in borderlands is great for next one!!

I'm enjoying watching the reaction of "Squid Game 2". It's a pretty old Korean drama, and I'd like to recommend a drama called 'Goblin.' It's a bit childish, fun, and warm... I'm curious about your reaction, and I recommend it because I think you'll enjoy it. - FROM KOREA

Gi-hun could have won the voting if he told some X people that he could pay their debt with his money lol. (Not everyone's ofc. He is not that rich)

I deff dont have a problem with it when it makes sense narratively… i deff think Arcane coulda used one if not two more seasons to fully flesh out its plot…but in this case it really felt like they were dragging it out as much as possible to have 3 seasons worth of material…i have a feeling we will all look back on this show once season 3 comes out and say “yup it prob could have been just 2 seasons and gotten to the point better” lol

And if you watch the drama DP on Netflix you’ll see the trauma that happens in the military in Korea.

I feel so bad for Dae-ho (ponytail guy). You can see he really shines and is absolutely a beast with the traditionally girls games with the picking up stones thing and he's so happy when he absolutely kills it. In contrast, when its stuff that he's apparently been shoved into, like the military and being manly and shit, he's so traumatized he just sits in a corner with PTSD when he hears all the gunshots again. Poor fella was just a good dude who wanted to help and be liked

I feel like episode 7 was really bad narratively but overall this season was amazing.
Enjoyment wise, I actually enjoyed season 2 more but season 1 is objectively way better!

Absolutely fair, he is a coward. He had a chance to redeem himself to jump in himself, and two against one, they might have had a chance but he does literally nothing

I find a couple of things in this season so weird. One that our mate the cop trusts some random dude who "found" him after the squid games people shot him. He's a cop, he should automatically be suspicious of this lucky save and who did it. Second, Gi-hun doesn't recall player 001 from last time fooling him and have similar suspicions? Seems really odd that they don't suspect either

Oh thats interesting. I felt like if he was actually part of the marines like he said, he wouldnt have been so incompetent with the gun. Especially learning how to use it as well.

To answer your question about the release date of Season 3, the creator said in an interview that he believes the release window will be somewhere between summer and fall of 2025, so potentially just 6 months of waiting...

Yeah, he seems sus but it's just his trauma from being in the army when he didn't want to. His recollection of his dad wanting the army to man him up suggests he was too soft and sweet as a kid and the army definitely broke him

Arcane is a great example to use here because it was SO rushed by squeezing in that much stuff into one season when it should have been two seasons. If the showrunners got the choice to have two half seasons and do it properly versus cram it all into one season, I'd much prefer the former

Between this and shows like Dandadan, I can see this being the industry-standard moving forward. But in those cases, it doesn't really bother me because it's not like we need to wait 3 years for another season, by the same time next year we will know the conclusion, so it's not that long of a wait...

2024-12-31 04:08:10 +0000 UTC
Well, it’s not like they have a choice. Netflix is the one that decides how many episodes they get so the directors, screenwriters etc don’t have a choice but to make it work with what they got.

From what i’ve heard, the guy who is an ex marine did go to the marines but he was forced by his dad because since he had older sisters he would hang out with them a lot and his father wanted him to “man up” so he forced him there. The poor guy’s got ptsd since he was not made for the military/marine life 🫠

Getting sick of these “half seasons” being put out by all these shows disguised as a “full season”😭😭 like there is a difference between a good cliffhanger (like arcane season 1) and whatever this was 😩
