2026-01-28 14:00:40 +0000 UTCI wasn’t remembering as I watched, and I wondered why Frieren said “this feels familiar” a little after the first episode started, but people have pointed out the parallels between the start of this first episode and the start of the first episode of season 1- they both start with the party traveling on the back of a wagon with Frieren reading a book while the others talk about needing to find work- there might be some other parallels, but that was a big one. I haven’t read the source material, but apparently this season is short so that the next few arcs will fit more neatly into their own seasons/potentially movies. Hopefully we won’t have to wait 2 years for each one- but at least if they’re taking their time with it, the care they’re able to put into it should be worth it
