2023-05-09 23:55:10 +0000 UTCThis is the first time I've really interacted with season 5 since I watched it the first time last year. I really didn't care for it then. I appreciate it more now for what it is, but I honestly think I would have been just as happy with the series wrapping with a 6 episode miniseries focused on Bubbles' redemption arc and various wrap-up cameos. One thing I do like about this season is the completion of the Herc/Carver storyline. There's an episode in season 1 where they're looking for Bodie and they storm through his grandma's house. Carv was really curt with her as they were leaving, but Herc stayed a few minutes and talked to her and apologized. I think about that scene a lot and how they ended up completely flip-flopping as to who actually gave a fuck. Carver is one of my favorite character arcs because of that, along with Cutty and Bubbles for similar reasons.
