2022-02-06 01:27:35 +0000 UTCThe TV show "Fargo" is produced by the Coen brothers, but the idea, the writing and directing is done by Noah Hawley, who's clearly a superfan of their work. This is why the TV show seems so much like a tribute to - and an immitation of - the Coen brothers style, which I guess is the ultimate compliment you can give an artist.

2022-02-04 18:56:39 +0000 UTCI don't know how involved the Coen brothers were with the Fargo TV series, I'm assuming not a lot considering they haven't written or directed any episodes. They're credited as executive producers on the show, established show creators with prior writing credits are often given the title of executive producer, even after they depart the show. I'm assuming that it's more so a legacy credit since it's based on their film. Any similarities to any Coen brothers films is probably a deliberate homage on Noah Hawley's (creator and showrunner) part.
