He is kind of like it as you see he is trying his best to hold two tentacles in order to ensure his armpits are exposed for different tentacles to tickle.
Thinking about different patterns to draw on them is not that easy, especially when you need to think about perspective. I think it is a balance between the perspective and the decorative.
