Dare to Scare Uncut: Five Nights at Freddy's
Added 2016-10-15 15:50:01 +0000 UTCIt's easy to write Five Nights at Freddy's off for being nothing more than a bunch of cheap jump scares, but I think that undermines what's really going on in this game. There is a legitimate sense of tension here, and though I don't cover it in this particular series, the creator (Scott Cawthon) loves to hide tons of lore and easter eggs for those dedicated enough to uncover them. The end result is something highly distilled and better than you'd expect.
Coming in just under the wire here. I have a lot on my plate this Halloween; perhaps too much. Recorded this last night, the upload only finished about 20 minutes ago. Again, some more minor technical issues; Clickteam Fusion (what these games are made in) doesn't always play nice with OBS, or at least, not with the way Scott Cawthon uses it. But in all honesty it's such a minor technical blip that I hesitate to even mention it.
