Hey,
just wanted to share what I've been working on lately.
besides working on the rework I've also spent quite some time in unreal past 2 weeks and made very good progress regarding the characters.
There are still some missing things, boob physics, hair physics, cloth physics.
But besides the small things everything else works pretty damn good. Morph targets (makes the elbow/knees spiky when bending), subdivisions (makes the character smooth no harsh edges), dual quaternion (look that one up ;) ), and the skin and hair shaders.
All of these things make the character look the way she is in the video.
The animation you see in the video is from mixamo -> an online library for animations. But we need our own animations for the game of course.
So a couple of hours ago I spent some money for a mocap suit and see how that works.
I'm pretty excited though, everything is slowly coming together. And that I can use daz characters makes it even better. I could bring pretty much every character from the awakening to unreal. But for now, I decided to only move Linda as a test character.
As for the awakening. There's still a lot of work left and you might be surprised to the changes we did. But nothing will be changed too dramatic so the core still will remain the same. We will try to give it more depth though than the original, because after replaying the prologue we noticed how rushed some parts were. We want to fix that.
Anyway, I hope you're all safe and well. It seems like everything is turning out alright.
And of course thank you all for the support over the years. Without you I couldn't.. we couldn't do any of this.
Cheers,
SLim, nao & the rest of the team
ps: on monday we'll be working on a mac version for the launcher. + the next android version will be on a different renpy version and hopefully it will work better for those that struggle to install it.
