Long before the rise of the Zonai and far before the kingdoms of Hyrule took shape, the icy peaks around Mount Lanayru were home to a secretive order known as the Ice Priestesses of Naydra. Devoted caretakers of the sacred spirit dragon, they served as guardians of purity, winter, and quiet restoration.
The priestesses were entrusted with maintaining the frost-bound sanctity of Naydra’s domain. They tended to the ancient shrines carved into the mountain’s ice, kept corruption at bay, and performed rituals meant to guide the flow of chill winds and mountain mists. Their teachings held that cold was not simply an element, but a cleansing force that protected the world from decay.
Their garments were simple but striking: long, layered robes woven from pale-blue fibers that shimmered like snow under starlight. Fine frost patterns appeared naturally on the fabric, said to form when Naydra’s presence was near. Each priestess wore a carved ice circlet on her brow, symbolizing clarity of mind and unwavering calm.
The priestesses claimed they could sense Naydra’s emotions through faint shifts in the mountain air... a warming breeze when content, a sharp drop in temperature when displeased. By the present era, no known members of the order remain, and their sanctuaries have long since frozen over. Yet traces of their presence linger... And with this armor, Zelda revives their order
