This brought Jason to the last two meridians. By this world’s tradition, they are a yin and yang pair of leg meridians matching to the bladder and the kidney. Since he had started with a yang meridian, that meant the last one would be a yin meridian, the kidney to leg channel.

Jason had specifically left these for last as they are some of the most central. That way, the last bit of excavation didn’t result in things being too out of balance. And from what he could see, this had worked out.

His other meridians are clear and healed, leaving only the yin leg meridian. Jason focused on the blockage, mostly excavated. A tunnel with only a bit of rubble left, rubble that he began to remove scoop by scoop.

Then there is a hole, this step taking hardly five minutes. The next step went even quicker as that hole allowed the full force of his meridians to flow for the first time. Like a hole in a dam, the power now flowing through quickly eroding the blockage. This practically did the work for him.

Jason simply had to act like a proper manager. Not the kind that micromanages and gets in the way. No, a manager who makes sure everything is in place for their workers to do their job. So Jason made sure to pay close attention, grabbing any bits of the blockage that try to reattach or is going towards one of the other meridians. He wants every bit of the blockage gone.

And then between one breath and the next, it is. This represents the start of the final step to excavating the primary meridians. A step that required him to actively cultivate, guiding his power through cycle after cycle. To baptise the fully open meridians, making sure that the unleashed flow didn’t strain them to breaking. As well as discover if there are any natural flows to take advantage of.

It also represented a vulnerable state. To get the full benefits of this transitionary period takes your full attention away from the outside world. A step that many cultivators don’t have the privilege of diving fully into. Jason, in his bedroom, capsule room, feels no immediate danger and allows even the small bit of attention he directs outward to be pulled inward.

And the world notices.

Jason’s power flows unfettered through his meridians, slowly picking up pace as said meridians are conditioned. All the while the flow begins to settle. Though not into some special pattern, he isn’t lucky enough to have some special physique.

Outside of him, the giant zone that excluded the corruptive powers he denied, began to churn. To spin. The area shaped like the planet’s own magnetosphere roiled as power changed, settled, roused, and twisted.

All around the apartment, sensors blared. Scientists that had settled into a routine were shocked out of their comfortable rut. Before, the region, while described as a magnetosphere, was more like a region of calm. Odd, but you find it sometimes in nature. More than a few dead sailors of old can tell you about regions of the sea where the wind just dies.

This, of course, is interesting. In fact, it had been practically printing papers for them since the “incident”. Even ignoring the supernatural powers at play, which aren’t exactly out in the open.

The new change? It is magnitudes more important. Over the hours to come, they would watch what was a stagnant region, churn into an intricate dance of flows. This didn’t match up with the flows that are stabilizing within Jason, but rather the flows matched up with the world around it.

A lucky break for Jason. It would be a little hard to play ignorant if the flows had marched up with those appearing in his own body. And as the end of the second day rolled around, the changes settled.

As if this was a signal, a team burst into Jason and his mom’s apartment. Though since he had stayed in the capsule room, they found nothing. Undoubtedly, they managed to grab records from the apartment’s system.

It is quite the event, and when Jenny is alerted to the event, lawyers swung into action. Of course, it is too late to actually retrieve any data that was extracted. Good thing they had already set things to not actually keep much local, those corporate stooges only getting a few hours of data.

It would take a little time, but suffice it to say, they are going to get some decent cash out of that mess. Jason would only learn about this later, though. He is just a bit distracted with wrapping up.

There isn’t anything special about his meridians, besides probably being the first on the planet to fully excavate them. Though even that isn’t certain. No one else likely cultivated, but part of what started civilizations down the path tended to be the one in a thousand years talent who is born with their meridians unblocked or some other miraculous shortcut.

Jason is actually happy to have an average experience. Special physiques and power flows can benefit a person. However, they might also pose certain restrictions or require special methods to advance. It would suck to have some sort of ultimate yang physique, only to need some sort of yang fruit that can’t even grow on the planet.

Though speaking of mystical herbs, Jason is finally at a step where such supplements might end up being required. It isn’t a proper step or rank. He could, in theory go right into cultivating towards the next breakthrough.

Jason isn’t going to do that, though. Now was the time to see about excavating the 8 extraordinary meridians. The special meridians that connect everything together and allow the flow of one’s own life force. What benefits you receive from them varies, though a further enhanced life span is assured. Which is also why they were seen as a rich person’s attainment.

If you’re lucky, a handful of them would be accessible and you can excavate them for free. The unlucky won’t be able to touch even a single one. That is, unless you use special “heavenly” herbs to unlock them. 

Jason’s plan is to use Rosha and Courtney’s connections to search out a few sets of herbs so they and any they want can do so before the prices on such herbs skyrocket. Because they don’t just require special conditions to grow. There is also a limit on how many can grow in a region because of the special energies they need.
