So I've been doing stuff in the background to make the Kickstarter a thing. Below is some quick maybe passable "art" for the banner, proving why I want an actual artist to make some new cover art. I enjoy my current cover, just as I can't help but keep using my current pfp that I drew in middle school despite having commissioned better art, but yeah. The book will sell better with a cover done by an actual artist.
Oh, and I'm setting up my kickstarter account for doing this and any future such things. You can have a vanity URL and I'm debating between just my username "AkhierDragonheart" or the thing I used for the email here and there, "DragonheartedNovels". I'm half leaning towards the first, just because it is shorter.
Whatever the case, I should have it up and running within a week? Maybe? I hope? Because I also have a bunch of general nonsense going on and plan to start uploading a new novel. Which I guess this is a soft launch of that?
Going to be another VR thing like NeoRealm, except more pure. The VR world isn't going to magically become real and the MC isn't reincarnated or Isekai'd. I haven't written the Preface for it so I don't really have any sizzle to sell it to you. However, there is an important change compared to both my two main novels and even BT. The new novel, SoulDive, is going to be focused on being a series of books right from the start, with the chapters release more than once a week if I can manage it. I've got ten books planned with about 12 chapters to a book, chapters being about 2.1k words. I'm going to split the chapters in half for posting over on RR and SH so there are even more frequent releases. I also plan for this novel to go up on Amazon under that free kindle thing, which means after a bit the chapters here and on the other sites will come down, at least for a while. Well, at least the first book in the series will do that. I'll have to judge how it turns out. Maybe I'll do a kickstarter for it as well.
Part of this is that I'm starting to feel a bit of monetary dread. Like, if everything keeps going, I'm fine? However, my computer is getting on four years old, same with my phone. I've already had two of my monitors fail this years and I don't have the money to replace my PC right now. I'm going to start replacing components to try and ship of Theseus my way into a refreshed computer, but yeah, I see the prices of the parts going up. There's also some other stuff, but I'm planning on doing an end of year/beginning of year post.
Um, I wasn't planning on dumping such heavy stuff, but it sort of just came out? I'm sure a lot of us are feeling it right now, don't let it keep you don't. I hope we can all have a happy life and enjoy novels together.
