[Closed] Collecting Short Story Prompts for July 2023

I'll take the more popular ones as decided by the number of hearts (or that I particularly like) in the comments and make a poll at the start of the month. The winner will be made into a short story of a thousand or so words.
Not many rules on what you can suggest at the moment. That will mostly be figured out as we go. Besides that, the short story will come out before the end of the next month.
Rules for prompts:
- No NSFW (Patreon would get testy about that)
- No prompts about anything directly related to my current stories (can't be something the MCs would come across)
- Not doing depression or similar

So to overcome the odds, they search through old tombs, labyrinths and even the Forbidden places, all to search for the Ancient Ways. And when they at last find them, they discover that the Ancient Ways are inferior in every possible way to the Modern Method, from ease of learning, to power efficiency, and power in general

While attending to his rock garden he is annoyed to discover that the gravel is being filled in with dust from the mountains wind. After a few months he discovers that he can control the dust in the wind with his earth magic. I don't know how to make paragraphs on patreon... A few years later a prospecting team discovers a source of air crystals higher on the mountain. Slowly a community of air mages is built near the earth mages home and while initially not a problem some of the youths from the air town have taken to leaving profanity and dicks in the earth mages carefully curated rock garden. While not outright malicious the actions of the Air heads are testing the patients of the earth mage and retaliation edges closer as he has discovered that clumping dust in the air provides enough support to take steps and attack in a mimic/sudo/imitation of air magic. The story should revolve around everyone in the town knowing he is just an earth mage. But every teen who messes with his garden and then flees suffers multiple slips and faceplants from the air until they get out of his earth manipulation range. The reason they haven't stopped messing with the old man is because the town mayors son is the ringleader and the old man is quiet entertained by their actions so hasn't tried to really hurt them just embarrass and counter prank them
