[Closed] Deciding the Short Story Prompt for July 2022
Added 2022-07-02 19:53:37 +0000 UTCBelow are the full prompts as the poll doesn't allow the full text. I'm going to run the poll for five days. The short story will be finished by the end of the month and will be available to all patrons.
- Supervillain Costume Designer - The life of a Costume Designer who sees their product a little too often on the news headlines, whose client's activities vary from bank robbing to building giant space lasors. Heck, at least the work is interesting, they get to use all sorts of fancy colors, patterns and weird gizmos to get the best for the clients. Some of the work is challenging too, like that one client who was absolutely an alien, or that shapeshifter who had a giant form, getting stretchy enough fabric for that was a nightmare. But at least the clients love their product, and the job pays well... probably from that bank robbery...
- a god-like being watches as an INCREDIBLY system reliant world has to deal nigh total collapse of their culture, technology, and possibly even understanding of magic, as they see the "horrors" of functioning without it for the first time in millions of years, after that being turns theirs 'off'.
- Ritual Caster - Nearly everyone is able to use magic. Sure, some people only manage to learn a few useful cantrips while focusing on other things, but they can still use magic. The MC is different, unable to manipulate mana. However, with the use of runes he can at least cast SOME spells as rituals, and so he studies at the mage's college. A random even causes his class at the college to be transported to Earth. Now, normally you would expect Earth to be a mana dead zone or something, and that is why there are no wizards or anything, but no. There are no wizards, because the Mana Density is so HIGH that it crushes any spell-forms that you attempt to form. Luckily, high mana density just makes the MC's rituals BETTER.
