[Closed] Deciding the Short Story Prompt for May 2022
Added 2022-05-02 08:09:53 +0000 UTCBelow are the full prompts as the poll doesn't allow the full text. I'm going to run the poll for five days. The short story will be finished by the end of the month and will be available to all patrons.
- God-like Watcher - a god-like being watches as an INCREDIBLY system reliant world has to deal nigh total collapse of their culture, technology, and possibly even understanding of magic, as they see the "horrors" of functioning without it for the first time in millions of years, after that being turns theirs 'off'.
- Underflowing Luck - Impossibly Lucky What if we had a System where the Creater forgot to patch out Underflow errors? "...He really shoudve known better. Someone like him with the lowest Luck stat possible, 1, finally getting an item drop from a dungeon boss? Sigh, he really lost himself and didnt check what it was before equipping it. A [Cursed Ring of Misfortune: Luck -2]? Really??? Sigh, might as well pull up the Status screen and see what it did. Still, -2 to Luck 1? What does negative Luck even do?" [Luck: 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,455] "... ... ...eh?" (As a note, as the author I'm going to totally cut that number down to size because just looking at it annoys me, 3.4e38 is a bit obsessive. I understand it is the overflow for 128bit but just no)
- Sapient Platypus - platypus gained Sapience instead of monkeys/apes. They summon a human to save them from "demons" (whatever a platypus demon is?); nobody expects the other.
- Rat Children in the Grocery Store (horror)
