When I saw the Brave promos, it made it seem like a different kind of story like I don't know, her fighting bad guys or standing up against an evil ruler or something, but when you watch the movie, it's an entirely different story. It's not bad movie, just leading

Simone looks good as a redhead lol

I've got one interesting trivia tidbit for this movie: I had a friend who was an archery teacher when this movie came out and he RAVED about the archery scene with the three suitors all shooting poorly. As he described it, each one made the real-life mistakes that new/poorly trained archers make when they're starting out. He talked so much about how the crew must have had real archers working on the film, and they must have gone to archery ranges and carefully modeled the way people moved. He expected them to get it right for the Big Dramatic Scenes where Merida is showing off her skills, but he was SO IMPRESSED that they got even the mistakes right.

When y’all gonna do the next Mission Impossible movie?

Player0ne82

good thing I was already eating while watching the intro ;)

The Girl in the Cafe is a great Kelly Macdonald film. My introduction to her.

ParaNorman is another animated horror comedy fusion. Different animation style of course.

OMG That thumbnail 😂

LazyBoy Stays Up Late Watchin Video Tapes

I gotta recommend the 2025 animated science fiction horror comedy The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie. It follows housemates Daffy Duck and Porky Pig as their efforts to keep their home from being condemned lead them to discover an alien invasion conspiracy at their new job. It's a pretty funny movie and one of the rare few hand drawn animated movies released these days. It also has a pretty good horror plot for a kids' movie. At one point it has a scene ripped straight out of John Carpenter's The Thing. It's such a funny movie, a true return to form for the Looney Tunes, and would make for a great reaction. If you did decide to watch it, I'd stick through the credits, as there's a mid-credits scene and an after-credits scene.

Great reaction to one of my favorite Pixar classics. Such a fun movie. Always love listening to Billy Connolly’s (Fergus) voice and that brilliant Scottish accent. He and Gerard Butler always amaze me as they seem to be able to turn it on really thick when they want. Kinda reminds me of the voice and that over-the-top performance of Tim the Enchanter from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. 😁 I was also trying to figure out where I have seen Kelly Macdonald (Merida) recently. Turns out she was in this British/Japanese TV mini-series called Giri/Haji that I saw last year. Pretty good and has some of our favorite Shōgun actors, namely Takehiro Hira (Ishido) and Anna Sawai (Mariko). Incidentally, they both appear in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023). Here’s a few more animated films to consider: * Lightyear (2022) * Monsters vs. Aliens (2009) * Spies in Disguise (2019) * Rise of the Guardians (2012) * Nimona (2023) * 9 (2009) * Penguins of Madagascar (2014) - still hoping you’ll watch it someday 😁

I’m so here for more Disney and Pixar movies that are new to George only.

Ha Ha! Simone makes the best Merida. 😆

This is such a perfect thumbnail lol

I love Brave. Love that there is no prince.

Best Simone photo ever

James Melton

As someone who has grown up with "Asterix and Obelix" the notion of "they couldn't show an actual brawl" is so so weird, lol. But man do I love this movie.

Thall

You might be onto something, considering right after this they started spamming sequels and other movies that include more misses than hits, IMO.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

McKidd is hamming it up a bit and I think he’s slightly sped up but it is understandable, if you’re from the area. Watching the movie and laughing at what he says and then seeing the joke was that no-one could understand him was odd though.

Mango

That's a thumbnail for the ages.

Big Blue Wobbly Thing That Mermaids Live In

Totally out of left field but I was listening to how you don't like to cook. Suggesting Souper Cubes,.. I do Costco Chicken (pre-shredded breast packs or the Chicken), Rice/noodles or mashed potatoes, veggies, and you can put it in the broth. Put it in single servings or 2-cup servings in the souper cube and freeze it. Make it once a week and you have 4 - 6 dishes. You can make a different version every week, so you have a chicken, beef, pork, veggie .. just sitting there in the freezer - 5 min in the microwave .. done done done.

This came out the year my daughter was born, she watched it a lot as a toddler 🥹 i never got tired of it. So grateful she got to grow up with these strong femal characters.

Movie rec: check out red rooms from 2024 I think. Great movie and it's french Canadian to incentivize you to watch it.

My favorite thing is that the actress Kelly Macdonald who does the voice of Merida here also played Carla Jean in No Country for Old Men about five years prior. I kept wanting her to bust into a good, “But, Llewelyn, your mother’s dead…” line. Such great range between accents, but I suppose the one here is more her natural Scottish accent like she used in her debut in Trainspotting.

mojo shivers

This was the film that signaled the beginning of the downfall of Pixar for me. Loved the first half, second half was... strange lol.

Dan Holmes

My bf at the time drove me crazy, quoting the movie. He would get all serious and say hey babe I have a to ask you something... "If YE HAD THE CHANCE TA CHEHNGE YER FEHT...WOODJUR?" He'd leave me voicemails asking that 🤣.

Carlos Hurtado

Not sure if this is my favourite thumbnail but you two absolutely nailed it with this one.
