Added 2024-12-02 01:53:23 +0000 UTCSo this strip is in the middle of a storyline where Marigold and Aurelia are both vtubers (video game streamers who use animated avatars instead of their actual likenesses) and meet up in real life. Making Marigold a streamer was a great idea, because I had struggled to give her something to do, character-wise, after she got together with her boyfriend and became marginally less of a trash goblin. Aurelia being one too just seemed natural, and has made it a lot easier to integrate her with the “main” cast (such as that is, anyway). I love her face in the last panel. I don’t think I’ll ever be really happy with my art, but I’ve definitely gotten to the point where a good face can sell a joke that otherwise might not land.

Now I have a kid who's 25, which I figure is just a little bit younger than the main cast. Aurelia is probably older than me, but not much.
